I'm not sure if its been mentioned before, but perhaps a way to balance out all the mass driver spam now is to make the grenades bounce when fired from the hip (with faster "tracking" or rotation able), and then allow the grenades to explode upon impact when fired through the sight, but the rotation or tracking would be slower than a hip fire.
I figure that it won't stop the needless spam from a fixed location on higher ground, but it will stop the spammy behavior on similar ground when fired from the hip. |

people spam ARs
wheres your nerf the AR thread? I was unaware that ARs had splash damage that didn't require me to use as much skill when aiming. Give ARs splash damage, and I'll call out for their nerf, as well. Or hell, if you want impact-exploding MD grenades, then just lower the rof or, again, make the grenades bounce so there's *some* skill required. Spamming on the ground at peoples' feet doesn't require skill.

There's no downside to spamming a MD from the hip. The rof is too quick, turn rate isn't affected and the shells explode upon impact. Where is the downside? Where is the skill required?
Having the grenades bounce once or twice from hip firing would require that the MD user exercise some skill in getting the kill. I'm sure nobody has a problem being killed by someone with skills, myself included. It's when it requires none and the unskilled player still profits is what chafes on people and why it feels imbalanced.
Slower tracking but better damage application (exploding on impact from the sight) and faster tracking/worse damage application (shells bounce) from the hip would make the weapon require some skill to use. |

Chances Ghost wrote:just pointing your weapon at someone and doing damage is OP, you should at least have to take into account bullet drop and velocity changes.
but no you just have to aim and all your bullets instantly dmage whats in front of you.
make it so that you have to at least AIM, lead your target, and account for bullet drop.
AR takes no skill. force them to aim.
remind you of anything? Yes, let me shoot my AR at the ground and kill them. Perfect analogy. I don't know why you don't design the game! You're spot on.
