There's not enough incentive to actually play the game. We log in, check out how SP we have to spend and then log out. We sit AFK in the redline or MCC. We redline snipe. We generally just don't contribute to winning an actual match, yet we are rewarded all the same. I'd like to fix this.
What the game needs, is to provide goals and achievements for certain aspects of the game. Keep the current skill system, but add a new system of progression based on in-game achievements.
An example of this would be to base assualt rifle skills such as sharpshooting and faster reloading on actually doing those things. So if you want to go up a level in sharpshooter, then youll to have the required SP, but also you'd need to have "x" amount of let's say, headshots, additionally.
If you want to go up a level in hacking, then you need the SP, and you also need to hack "x" amount of objectives.
Want proto repair tools? You'll need to heal "x" amount of armor.
What about dropsuits? You need to earn "x" amount of WP's while wearing lower teir dropsuits before you can skill into a higher tier dropsuit.
This concept would be applied to everything in the game, so that we dont have people thinking they can simply set up an alt with passive skills for three months and pick it and have proto gear. It also keeps AFK'ers from progessing in the game as well as anyone who simply thinks they have all the best gear by not playing the game for six months and then logging in to spend their SP. People, should have to play the game to earn their skills and gear. This additional system wont let you get into anything faster that you would right now, but it'll keep bad team players and AFK'ers from progessing.
I think the reason we dont have more player's online is because everyone knows CCP is letting us simply get every item in the game based on how long your account is active. You don't need to play the game to get proto gear, just play call of duty for six months and then log back on and spend your SP. This same thing happens in Eve Online. you don't have to play the game to progress in it. |
