how is this weapon good? horrible?
been thinking of skilling into it want to know if it's worth the time
I hear it's better for CQC just wondering if anyone has first hand expo and care to share |

what about it is awesome?
people say it's AV other say it better infantry is it really better close or far away is it good enough to use without a secondary weapon? |

Go level 1(or buy a few AUR versions) and slap a complex DMG mod on it. Play a few ambush matches and maybe a skirmish or domination. If you like it, keep it.
No real reason to use the advanced or even the proto one, they aren't worth the isk. |

I will do that may main reason for this post was to find out if this is a AV or a inf weapon but we will see what I find out! |

It is infantry. Can't hit Lavs, only tanks. |

It's a bit of a hybrid, not great at doing either but it gets the job done.

I personally use it for anti personal with a smg for back up. It's up to use to use locus or AV grenades, flux are kind of pointless. |

I use it as a counter for LLAV I run
Scout ADV
Plasma Cannon
SMG
Packed AV
proximities explosives
Enhanced Cardiac Regulator
Enhanced Shield Extender and Basic
You'd be surprised how much this works.This is how it works:
1) throw proximities in same spot ( if u can put 4)
2)pull out Plasma Cannon
3) wait for murder taxi
4) when murder taxi has been spotted and going directly at you in straight line stand in front of proximities facing LAV
5) shoot Plasma Cannon when he's 4 seconds from running you over
6) jump to the side dodging the lav; usually he will flip the car and cant recover very quickly( because of the proximities)
7) finish it of with packet AV grenades
Warning: You will be sniped a lot so... Don't stay still waiting for LAV |

The Plasma Cannon is a lot of fun to use, but one shouldn't lose sight of what makes it fun. Yes it can OHK, and the projectile itself is cool looking, but It's enjoyable primarily because it's a novelty, plain and simple. I have spent hours using it across diferent game types, tried a huge amount of fitting variations at various skill/ISK levels, and I can say without a doubt that this weapon is not honestly competative, even with proto level modules/suits and squad support. It's a very poor choice for AVers, as AV grenades or a militia FG are significantly more effective against LAV and HAV targets. It can ruin a heavy's day in CQC, but it will get you killed at least as many times as you get the OHK on him.
I realize this is a fairly scathing review of the PLC, but I actually really enjoy the weapon's laugh-a-minute shenanigans. Just one big word of advice, don't spend any SP above STD level, as the performance increase is not at all on par with the incerase of other weapons. I really do think this gun will recieve some love down the road from CCP, much like the MD did, that will drastically improve it's viability; but even if it doesn't at least you're not out much SP for your venture.

Many think its going to become op if it gets a buff. |
