Okay first of all, in no way am i going to beg for ISK from players and promote the notion that they NEED TO DONATE to me, but recently i have been plauged with the shittiest luck when flying my proto-python fit, with examples ranging from invisible enemy RDV's, random instant explosions, to friendly blueberry pilots literally ramming their milita Vipers into my 1.1 mil dropship. All of these factors combined basically have drained any amount of ISK i once had, and i have now become furious that even though you can be a great pilot, there's absolutely no way to make money if you just run into 1-2 bad games.
Now, the counter-response to this would be that i shouldn't fly in mostly every game. But it takes around 10 matches of me doing a mediocre ground job (All the SP i have is skilled into ds so i have to use militia fits) to earn 1 dropship. Where if i simply call in 1 ADS and keep it alive for the whole match (There are times i go literally days without losing 1 ADS), i can make about 250K per match, which hikes my ISK payout about double that if i were on ground.
That being said, there's clearly a way that DS pilots can make money if they are smart, talented, and lucky enough, however that luck only lasts so long, and each mistake either by blueberry friendlies, or CCP RDV's drains 1 mil from my wallet each time. If there are any members who wouldn't mind donating any amount of ISK to this veteran DS pilot, i would more than appreciate it, the amount of negligence that CCP has shown dropships is really taking a toll on my wallet, but i won't let it completely bog me down. |

How the hell did you end up with over 250 million? I was there for chromosome as a pilot but quit about half way through because the only good DS during that time were Logistics, and that means you couldn't get any kills yourself, and got no WP for spawns inside of the dropship, that, and CCP was ignoring the pleads to fix the logi dropships before doing anything else with them.
When i returned for the new Uprising i was awarded about 28 mil, and used practically all of it along with my SP given back (around 4 mil SP), and skilled into assault and logistics proto dropships, because in the end I'm never going to not be a DS pilot, because i have seen how good i can be with them. |

Well guess what. When I hit zero ISK if this role isn't sustainable (By virtue of RDV's alone!) then I'm done. It's one thing to be killed by other players.
Its one thing to be killed by user error
But if mother ****ing meteors fell from the sky and cost infantry players 1.5 million ISk per game, 20x a day. Do you think any of them would give a **** about playing this game? Funds are quickly running out, along with my patience.
The fact that something totally unavoidable loses you that much ISK and isn't even concerned with you or another player is an embarrassing oversight in game design.
Try this guys. Play Dust for a few hours. Roll a dice. If it lands on 4, 5 or, 6 you just lost 1.5 million ISK. See how long you can keep that up before you say WTF this game is kinda stupid and peace out. Well said. |

Bojo The Mighty wrote:My most agonizing crash:
It was chromosome Manus Peak. We were mopping up as usual but the team got wise. They pulled a proto forge on me and just as I came round a skyscraper he popped me the final time. I was going full forward velocity. I got my gunners out but I remained because my armor repair module was so very close to finishing it's cool down. I was slowly and cruelly might I add approaching the ground (but I was going very fast forward so I traveled the whole map cross section). Just as the last blip on the cool down meter finished, I blew up before I even hit the ground from armor burn. It was the cruelest yet most intense crash I have been in.
For more tales of adventure, insert 500,000 ISK into Serimos and fellow Condors. Lololol yes, we have many stories about insane dogfights & epic failures haha. |

Basically, 700k isk poofed in around 3 seconds. Maybe 10 if you're counting the time during which it's still attached to the RDV. Yeah, that's one thing i learned pretty early on, always wait for your RDV to completely disappear before deciding to put on that afterburner haha, there are also occasions where for some reason it takes about 5 seconds longer than usual to vanish, so be careful everytime. |

::le sigh:: Did you re-skill after losing a few? :P If by few you mean over 50 top tier ships.....then yea...... I made it worse because I was determined to learn as quickly as I could to be useful in Planetary Conquest, but between prototype AV, top tier tanks, RDVs, crippling PC lag, and the general state of dropships, not to mention my masochistic determination to be logistics support....it all wound up with me experiencing all the worst that DUST had to offer, repeatedly, in a very short period of time. Now I'm sitting here wondering what's going to happen to my build in 1.4/1.5 and hating how my experience trying to become a dedicated logistics dropship pilot almost made me throw away near 5 years of love for this game. It's infuriating. A near perfect example of the culmination of problems dropship's face not only in the short run, but in the long as well. It's completely accurate that CCP has left dedicated pilots to practically either HTFU and suffer massive losses from CCP's own negligence in not being able to correctly balance vehicles before their "release", and now veteran pilots like me are having to make these sorts of posts in order to at least keep flying without having to spend hours upon hours not even playing the role i skilled 7 million SP into because it simply returns no real ISK back to me, even though i dedicated so many hours and skill points into making that possible.
One thing is for sure, dedicated dropship pilots have had to "HTFU" every single time an RDV takes 1 mil instantly from their wallet. This 1.4/1.5 better be literally phenomenal for vehicles. |

Not sure if it was someone from these forums, or on the alliance forums i also posted on, but whoever sent me about 12 mil, thank you so damn much. It's a lot of help for someone whose 7 mil went into DS, and now i can be a lot more comfortable with the position I'm in. Again, thanks a ton Dust community, you guys aren't as bad as a lot of topics here try to assume :P |

Fly crap until 1.5. I know it sucks but that's your option. Dont come here begging. You probably fly ppl up to the MCC to snipe glitch, if thats the case enjoy your brokeness. Idk who you are, or who you think you are, but this was a simple request made a long time ago by myself because dropship pilots can not earn any money at all, and I am a Prototype logistics (Eryx) and assault (Python) pilot, I don't let noobs snipe on the MCC, I fly over the enemy MCC and take them out. I don't let redline sniping tanks camp behind the redline, i rain missles down from the sky in my assault dropship and destroy them. I don't let forge gunners pick shots off at me, instead i rotate around them and kiill them before they can hit me enough. However, I can not avoid RDV's that take millions from me instantly, I can't avoid redline snipers that camp miles behind the mcc, I cant dodge Ishukone FG shots that hit me from across the map, so far my missles can't even reach them, and I don't crash due to my own fault. Believe me, if you see me on the enemy team, you will most likely die if you try to mess with me & are out of the redline, and with the way you talk, I'd love to ruin every game of yours possible.
This thread was created because I know there are members who make a lot of ISK by using prototype suits or weapons, because CCP has created a gap in ISK cost for infantry and vehicles. Proto & skilled pilots like myself no matter how good we are, can never make enough to earn back the 1.2 million it costs each dropship, because we are often taken out for bullshit reasons. And i don't have to enjoy my "brokeness" (not a word), because there are understanding, fellow veteran players who know how hard it is to be a proto pilot, unlike your ignorant and fallacious self. |

I'll give you a mil next time I see you in topmen.pub channel. I was in a game with Blackout waiting for him to land so I could when he saw one of his friends assault DS and then they engaged in a fire fight when the enemy DS began to lose he rammed Blackout0 head on, wonder if that was you. They should remove RDV's a free LAV can destroy a mil ISK dropship, when you recall a vehicle it is transported to the warbarge they should transport the vehicle to you via materialization not RDV, when I run tanks the RDV Announces to the other team Tank switch to AV. As a pro pilot I don't ram in intention of hurting another dropship during a dog fight if I am losing, and i would never do that. I have beat Blackout in multiple dogfights by using only my missles, and he has taken me down twice as well doing the same, but I wouldn't dare use my python as a ram because I am losing, that's not an actual dogfight that's just bullshit |

Crimson Judgment wrote:Serimos i haven't been playing dust recently and have lost all of my flight skills i have tried and tried but now im just a noob pilot again due to flying a helicopter in BF3 that i have become so used t the helicopter controls that im now terrible
but in my prime as a pilot i was never hit by an RDV after 1.2 and i would gladly use my time to relearn how to fly a dropship again and teach you how to dodge RDV's 101 if your willing to learn because dropships have it so bad every match a bird stays in the air is a win for the community
also a question that needs asking first do you run an afterburner? because that could largely contribute to my survival because i have a afterburner and a jovian powerplant on my python but that alone isn't enough to dodge RDV's you need to know your surroundings and pay close attention.
so i can help you out if you want although i will need to learn how to fly again lol (just basically get used to the controls again) Thanks for the offer man but believe me, overtime i too have become good at knowing how to dodge RDV's, but there are still times where it's simply impossible because it hits you literally as it's materializing right inside of your dropship. |
