Since the open market is coming (hopefully soon) i thought i'd give CCP some ideas. How about when they implement this, they make it so that you can sell your gear to the market itself if no one wants it. This should in no way be the best option to make ISK however. The prices that the market would give you for your gear should be considerably less than anyone would ask for it while not necessarily being nothing. This is just an idea and i also would like to get other people's opinions. I think this would be a good idea as i have standard gear that most people would not want as they already have prototype gear. |

I agree, there should be a sell back option. It would be half the original ISK or 1/3 even. Just something. |

The option to "sell-back" alone would be good for the noobs at the moment. I was screaming for this for the first few months of my career as a merc, it would've been a massive help giving me the opportunity to purchase them skillbooks and fund my fittings so I didn't have to use Starter Fits. I was under the impression they were working to give it us soon being as there was (/is?) a 'value' column when viewing assets which is obviously there to show the best price you can get for each asset. Give us this ASAP and develop it further (to create the player market) with time? Don't see why they didn't give us the option to 'Give Item' as well as money in that previous patch. No selling just gifting. At least we could trade between ALTS and friends who we can trust. |

Absolutely not. Something similar was done during the big reset where all the salvage was redeemed for isk, resulting in the glut of isk-flush proto stompers (arguably). The market that magically converts isk to weapons at a fixed price should be one way. If you want to sell stuff, you should have to sell it to other players, either at the same price or lower. Otherwise, there isn't a real market. |

Flint i COMPLETELY agree with you, they should have done that in the previous patch. But Oso, i am not saying that this should be the only option, but that it should be another option if nobody wants to buy the gear you're selling. |

then again, lasers have been **** in EVE for years now, and they only keep getting nerfed and/or replaced with missile ships |

Or they can just copy the Eve Online market and let the players have full control over the prices and minerals needed for production. |

Wouldn't that be a little too complicated for an FPS game like this? Sure, they mine and create stuff in EVE, but for a game in the FPS genre that would be taking it a little too far, don't you think? |

There will always be demand for any gear. You just have to know which region (ie: Domain, Molden Heath, Lonetrek, Heinmatar, etc.) to sell it at.
In Eve Online, there are items in the market that don't see any demand at a particular region for long periods of time. To an experienced marketeer like me, I can exploit that by buying the material in bulk from other players for dirt cheap by simply putting up long-term buy orders at a marked-down prices as I take advantage of players who are just fire-selling their junk to me.
I then turn those items around and put them up as multiple sell orders that later sit in the market for as long as 90 days while I make a profit trading other items that already have demand. Those sell orders are posted at marked-up prices to increase my profit margins. This way, if someone comes along that for some reason needs those items NOW, they can buy it from me en mass. And if I'm the only seller there, I can monopolize on the selling price.
I'm doing this already in Eve Online and so far it's working nicely. I managed to land a huge profit because one fella came along and needed a certain item in the region and I just so happen to be the only seller.
Of course, there is always the threat of some other marketeer coming in and competing against me by undercutting me. |

No. In fact, that's part of CCP plan for the next 5 years. Get ready.
Besides, the Dust economy will merge with the Eve economy anyways. |

You know that you won't be able to sell items to NPCs or buy them from NPCs as soon as the market is fully deployed? If nobody wants your gear it's your problem. This is the way it should be. |

Not such a good idea. Two reasons:
It will be hard to stabilize economy after introducing NPC cash machines. It's going to be bad enough with a limitless supply of cash from public matches.
It ruins potential business market. Like myself, I have plans for open market. One man's trash is another man's treasure after all, there are people looking for all kinds of gear. It wouldn't be any fun if everything had a fixed price, because no one would pay a cent higher than NPC prices if they existed. |

PS: If you need Quafe Suits, Cala's SMGs, remember Bojo's Grand Bazaar in the future. I have 125 Quafes, and they'll sell like hotcakes.
PPS: How would anyone sell Quafe's to NPC huh? They have no price.
This.
I have a lot of planned for the Eve-style market in DUST. Regional monopolies here I come. |

If the market is setup like Eve, then you won't know who sold you the stuff until after you completed the transaction. Lol |
