I just suggested this change to damage mods, take a look at the thread and tell me what you think oh Mercs of the General forum.

For some reason, people dont think Assaults should be nature killers. So i doubt anyone who doesnt play assault will get behind this. |

Nope. I don't even use damage mods and still a big Lol hell nope. I think the better choice is to add hardener mods to both shield and armor that way you have a choice to counter damage mods IF you want to not NERF ALL THE THINGS! |

The thread seemed a little pointless, all i got out of it, was, assault suits are a bit op, more so shield suits.
People keep wanting stuff nerfed, and then things end up being useless
Not to mention, its a choice... more shields, or less and more dmg, im not seeing the problem
Instead of just straight up nerfing dmg mods, why not come up with a idea for new modules..... |

For the front lines, yes But if you use mid range guns Damage mods are best |

That's what I was trying to say as well. More choices being able to counter any thing in the game with something else. Making it a mixing pot and not just one or two things are viable and every thing else is sub par |

No. This isn't the point. Cross is a logibro to the core. However, he appropriately sees, that for logis to have a fun/interesting/ and viable role they shouldn't be tempted to compete as slayers. To do that they should have to make such a sacrifice in their fittings that they are forced to be glass cannons with significant weaknesses.
IF logibros are tempted to compete MORE as SLAYERS and LESS as SUPPORT...THEN
FEWER people will armor tank giving less work for SUPPORT logibros...which leads to...
MORE logibros wanting to tilt toward slayer/support...which leads to...
LESS armor support...
It's a vicious cycle which pushes the game toward a vanilla slayer on slayer battle.
Creating a support-essential HP meta is important for logis.
Another option is to introduce some sort of remote/deployable shield support and then reduce shield regen a bit. |

Ok....
but we both come to the same conclusion..... we need NEW things, shield repper of some sort would be sweet
just **** off with the constant pointless nerf threads

no no no no no no. Did I say no enough. We need to stop trying to mod this game to our liking, we have done enough harm by the nerf threads and by the DEVS for listening to us. Yes some weapons were a bit over the top, but this would not be an issue if the suits and other weapons did there jobs. The game needs a lot of things but the things it does not need a this time is someone messing with my heavy. Here is the way to fix the heavy, release remaining suits and weapons. Once this is down then we can tweak them along with the rest of the weapons and suits so they harmonize with each other. We need to stop the nerf threads and start thinking on a larger scale. If weapon Q does this amount of damage how does it effect X,Y, and Z suit and go from there. |

Cheers, Cross Nerfing is just one of many option to balans some aspect of the game. Instead of what you suggested we could intruduce to game more High-slot modules that for example extend optimal range, or do some other stuff. |

It is a chicken and egg thing. I really don't think the armor meta is not too far off right now. I think it is slowly evolving this way.
The question is how are we going to make employment from support logi bros.
Bubble up economics: nicely ask more people to armor tank... Trickle down economics: give logis more work by handing out more armor HP... |

No to such a stupid thing not trying to be harsh but if this is even considered by a Dev rage mail and qq threads from me personally well never stop Im a flat out armor tanker(yea we exist) and the dmg mods is the only buff to armor honestly I feel like this would DESTROY the whole purpose of armor and kick a whole race from the game so my no is to the idea of this post in general. |

My main weapon of choice is defined by the number of damage mods you can stack. Caldari Assault, Caldari Logi, Minmatar Logi, and Amarr Logistics. If you aren't using these suits to stack damage mods, then just don't even bother using my weapon. That isn't how something should be balanced. But, balancing weapons hasn't really been an interest in CCP. Other than the Tactical Assault Rifles and the Flaylock Pistols.
lol, also good thing they changed flaylock blast radius. those things with sidearm damage mod were even more ridiculous. |
