BF 3 allows renting out it's servers. now each server is "yours" (till your funds run out. but who says keeping land or planet is cheap eh?) allowing you set up battles on your planet and in any district (maps) that you want to add.
Lets say you have 24 active players without really any drop though out a 24hr period. That's 500+ players on just ONE REGION. So east and west coast would make about 1000+ active players. copying your planet (server) to all regions will probably cap out at 2500+ players battling on your planets! with 500+ on each region.
Not sure how many are fighting PC now. But if imagine if CCP opened up a slew of planets. new corps will be able to purchase these planets without fear of getting attacked right off the bat. (since there will be so many) and be able to treat there planets like servers. gaining exp, and funds. while the vets are able to do same, ass pressure is taken off of the defender, for a more relaxed environment as to now its up to the choosing of the attacker, as to what which planet he want's to attack.
There will not be 6 planets owned by 4 corps. Opening it up will dilute there power for a bit. but allow a range of planets owned by a variety of other smaller, middle, and large corps. which will lead into more battles. more hiring of RINGERS (Ladies.. CALL ME) and negotiating terms not to get attacked.
Just a thought. I've Gotten requests already not to shut down my server at BF3, but I'll wait and see. my other clan mates might open up more dust514 servers on other regions. (funny since they refuse to play dust514. lol)
So I got to thinking "man, I want corp battle back!!" Then thought about that bastard that took my precious cb away.... PC. |

Doesn't work that way in New Eden.
Chances are if you open up more planets EON and the like would gobble them up, also by the time we do open them up the Eve Empires should be interested enough to have regular standing 'Armies' instead of the diddly squat mercenary outfits we have currently.
Usually what happens is that its not the biggest dog that gets the new turf its the beaten and battered dog that does that fought against the alpha and lost normally takes over the new territory.
The only time this 'expanding' has ever allowed new corps in was when the area was entirely uncontrollable. |

There is not a single thing I hate more than Battlefield 3's custom servers.
I'm sure there is more to this, but I am blinded by the rage that very first sentence induces.

Rented servers on BF3 are garbage anyway.
Ever heard the term "Badmin"?
Admins of servers on BF3 do a lot to rig their games. Stacking teams, killing / banning good players on opposing teams, kicking people for no reason and abusing the kill button.

The idea is greedy on dice part. But thing is you don't have to rent a server. plenty out there. and not all are bad. Some have the "DO what the hell you want" rule. Generally my rule.
But for a active clan, it does feel more connected to the game and it's player base. also makes for a good recruitment tool.
NOW about dust. guess I'll have to wait and see what happens with this "ARENA" thing, that is suppose to be better than CB. |

Not in my area... the closest ping is 120ms and I am banned for life on that cluster because its the same owner and I don't feel like cycling networks just to get banned again for killing his aimbot. |

I've been kicked out of a few "NO RULES!!!" servers before. Coincidentally, it only happens when our team is dominating.
All that said, it is nowhere near as bad as Combat Arms. If you did legitimately too good on your own in a match you could expect a kick/ban. It's not like they couldn't tell you weren't hacking with the way the screen displayed enemies that killed you. Some of the stuff, like standing in one spot and knifing the air and killing everyone else with it, was ridiculous.
As for Arena, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE ARENA!
