I stopped today, in the middle of battle, and watched our dropships lay down suppressing fire. What was i fighting for? I was getting payed to kill, nothing more and nothing less. Perhaps i turned my forge gun on those paying me? Would i get even more from someone else? Rarely do i find someone actually fighting for a cause, fighting with true passion. Tell me brothers and sisters, why do you fight? |

Well ... aside from the more philosophical reflections posted in a similar discussion, I fight for the sake of the State that protects the people and institutions I care for. I fight to shield that which I hold precious.
I have had such intentions before, and have watched them go badly awry. This, I tell myself, is a chance to atone for past mistakes.
Also, while I recognize that this is a character flaw, I nevertheless greatly enjoy the hunt. There are few things I enjoy as much, or take as much pride in, as a well-executed trap. |

I'm sorry, I'm not your brother.
Why do I fight? Heh, after all I've been through, I know I can only fight and rely on myself. I fight for money, and because we're clones. We don't know anything else, but killing.
As I said before, I fight for myself, and kill for the highest bidder..
