First of all the onboard sound went i assume, it said no audio devices installed. it was fine the last time it was switched on.
then the next day it wouldn't turn on, no input signal to monitor. I'm assuming the onboard video went too?
i don't get any beep codes at the beginning, the PC powers on, it has spent a long time uncleaned, it's the family PC and i've told them to hoover it out because the thing sounds like it's about to take off.
i think it's just given up the ghost after years of being abused and never being maintained but the question is, would a new motherboard fix it or is the PC useless
it's Vista, HP something, 6 years old. |

Have you tried to open up your pc? Once I had so much dust on mine and made it overheat so much. The next day, I opened up the pc and used around 10 air cans on it and tried to see if it made it any better. I was surprised and it worked. As for your monitor, did you see if the wire going to your pc was loose? Have your tried connecting your pc to a different monitor trying to see if it was monitor or your pc. If you tried to do everything and it still doesn't work then it might be the motherboard.
I would recommend building your own pc. Instead of buying a new one or trying to get your computer fix but some store that is going to charge you a lot. |
