ok so recently i have been doing testing and running some numbers. so i did a DPS chart here. i did this because i seen some other types of blaster and wanted to know which is the best for where and what.
compressed blaster while are shiny with those high per shot numbers actually had a lower DPS(hard to see in graph because its a matter of .3) than standard blasters. yes that is right. its due to lower RoF. while their RoF is not the only issue with them the heat is the other. even with damage mods scatter blasters still out shine it in dps at all ranges so this put them out of the running for any real use.
standard are just that, standard. so there isn't much going for them other then cost being the cheapest out of all the blasters so if cheap is what your going for here is what you are looking for.
scattered, well these have the largest DPS till about 60m when stabilized takes over so for closer range engagements these are the big boys of blasters while they do have the lowest cutoff range of 163m while standard and compressed have a max range of 200m but this is a non-issue.
stabilized are a good overall blaster and better then others at range. so if you normally stick well behind infantry or other tanks these might help the most if you can fit them with the highest fitting cost out of all the blasters.
TL;DR compressed=junk, never ever fit them as they are out classed by every other blaster even standard. standard=cheapest scatter=highest close-in DPS stabilized=best blaster at 60m+ but high fitting cost. |

i did this after i made this chart here and was like hm.. its kind of misleading. so i toke the number i had from that chart and made the dps chart for that tank vs tank action. i did other testing vs scattered blasters vs compressed while different mod to see if it would make more or less diffence when compared and found that no matter the mod used on both the scattered would always win.(difference in went from ~100 to ~120 when added a 10% damage mod added to both.)
i am hoping that compressed (both large and small) get change added to them because i would like to see different fits out there with valid reason for it.
if anyone wants more info on other turrets(large&small) i'll be happy to work them up. or anything vehicle related. |

So my next question would be about accuracy vs infantry. Hitting another tank isn't the issue, but does the scattered blaster suffer on accuracy against infantry vs , say the standard?
I 'seem' to have better accuracy with the standard over the scattered if I"m trying to hit infantry at moderate ranges, but I dunno if this is because of the differences in the weapons, or maybe enviromental issues, i.e. lag, etc. |

accuracy is the same because large turrets don't suffer from spread or recoil. you might just be more used to the higher turning rate that standard has over the reduce turning rate scattered has. i haven't noticed any accuracy issues with scattered vs any other blasters. this is might change with 1.5 but till then there is no difference between them in terms of accuracy, but if you want to do testing, they might has slightly different size collision hit boxes(this box for hitting moving targets) |
