Light and medium suits have a good variety of differentiating slots to choose between going shield or armor. I understand that there will be caldari heavy suits in the game eventually and that the Amarr racial dropsuits are designed to be even in terms of shields and armor...but why can't there at least be a type-II or something?
I was really hopeful for the commando to be a bit different, but it's still Amarr, and the slot loadout on the commando doesn't allow for much anyways...
(as a side note, the Mauler Heavy still has the slot loadout from Chromosome, i.e. two highs one low)
I'd like to see a variant of the heavy suit (for now at least) that has more high slots, and a higher base shield with lower armor.
For example:
Amarr Heavy A-II / A-2 / ak.1
480 shield, 240 armor, 760 ehp (50 less than type-I) (at lvl 5 shield/armor these values would be 600 shield and 300 armor, 900 ehp, 112 less than type-I)
STD - 2 high, 1 low ADV - 3 high, 1 low PRO - 4 high, 2 low
I based these values off of the Caldari Assault ____________________
I don't care if all other stats stay the same, I would just like to have some more options for a heavy with shields. 2 high slots doesn't really give me much to work with, especially when the HMG practically requires damage mods. |

Be patient, I dare say that the Caldari and Minmatar heavy suits will allow heavy shield tanking. |

I believe its the Amarrian philosophy - Equally high basic shields and armour but fewer slots. Its not the class but the race, when more are available we'll see some shield tankers |

No there is not and i gues that's mainly because we only got one heavy the amarr. Looking at the other amarr classes or rather the one other the medium frame also looks like it's meant to be half and half tanked or maybe slightly armor tanked with some damage mods in the highs. We don't have any of the really shield tanky heavies... YET Rumor says that minm heavy will be out in 1.4 or 1.5 and i know that's far away but atleast there is a actual deadline for them. If we look at the minm assault and scout their branch looks like they are heavily dependant on shield so i'm guessing the heavy will also be. And the minm heavy will most likely also be the fastest heavy we're going to see in dust. |
