I have a suggestion for a mechanic for the Plasma Cannon. After the projectile has been fired, the longer it remains in the air before it hits its target the more damage it should do, with the current numbers being the base, and from that it rises until it hits. This changes the dynamic of the Plasma Cannon a bit, and makes it a high skill high reward weapon which allows you to do huge damage if youGÇÖre able to land a long range shot properly. This would give the Plasma Cannon a unique mechanic to help differentiate it from other trajectory based weapons such as the Mass Driver GÇô favouring high arcs rather than direct shots.
The Plasma Cannon needs help at the moment and though this wouldnGÇÖt fix it, it would be a very cool mechanic and something to make the weapon stand out, rather than making it the Forge gun's little useless brother. |

I really like this idea because it offers an interesting mechanic to an unloved weapon, and it's something that isn't actually very common in FPS. |

Overall damage scaling sucks with the plasma cannon while having to charge your shot and arc it adds to the pile of WTF with the weapon. Some people find a way to make it work but this thing needs some serious work. I'd say model it more after a rocket launcher by removing the charge, make the projectile travel straight, and give the operation skill a bonus to travel time or splash radius. Damage scaling needs some work too. The standard should at least be able to OHK a LAV. |

The other ideas are: 10m splash radius More projectile drop Faster projectile
The idea is to make it a mortar weapon. Have a squad rain down fire on an objective and watch everyone disperse. Since Plasma cannons are slow to fire, it won't get a bunch of kills but it will hammer them from above requiring them to take cover or get out. |

However, if your idea was implemented I would be ok with it too.
Maybe have two variants, one with my idea and one with your's? |

well i dont think an entire team would try to make a barrage of plasma balls on the enemy team while sitting by a supply depot as much as i want to see this happen its not likely... |

A dedicated mortar squad. Assuming the player counts go up to 64 a match one day, having 6 players barrage a place and soften it up before the rest of the team breaks in would be awesome. |

I use a Plasma Cannon and remote explosives on a scout suit for demolitions, I use swarms on my Medium though for demolitions. |

Plasma cannon needs a bigger blast radius and an improved aiming system. That light weapon slot is valuable; if you can't get a hit at medium range, what good is the weapon? Given the slow travel time for projectiles, I think maybe the aim mode should highlight the impact zone. This way, you know where you will hit, but are only guaranteed a hit on a stationary target. |
