Its no wonder CCP has been so hush hush abt this, are heads starting to roll because of the condition of the game? sad thing is, it looks like he wasnt even the first producer. He may have inherited a mess. |

huge issue imo. if jian wasnt the first guy then the next guy they hire will be the third. three eps in this short period? something is really wrong.
the real question is did he leave or was he let go? theres a chance he was hired to clean up the first guys mess but wasnt given the right tools, personnel or time frame for a proper fix and he just said screw it and left rather than have Dust 514 on his resume for other companies to think he was the one responsible for this disaster they call an MMO.
if he had bad programmers that couldnt code fps how was he supposed to fix that? |

I CARE. he makes a good point, if Jian thought it was a sinking ship things probably wont get better, not in time to help the playerbase anyway. |

I'm not convinced it's hush-hush as such. Is it customary for development teams to announce comings and goings to the playerbase for anyone not in a CSR position? |

this!!! theres no if, he had bad fps coders
look @ the gameplay the hit detection, the bad engine. these are the guys that gave us the flaylock pistol and the op tac ar.
its a fact. if u compare them to other games they cant code good fps mechanics.

FFXIV is on their 3rd EP , it is looking 20x better since shutting down for a year. They have made tons of pre-order sales already and have been doing some good advertising overseas, have not seen much adverts in the states yet though.
Maybe Dust might need to do the same... just shut down server, ignore all this op up balanced unbalanced crap we argue about everyday. Hire some good people who are familiar with fps , let them work on the game for another 6 months to a year with no player feedback. Get some real content going. and maybe just maybe, they could relaunch and get 4-5x the playerbase they got now to come back and tell their friends how much cooler it is.. or that it is still **** and dust goes bust |

some do choose to fill in their playerbase on a lot of the teams status. Here with CCP though.. it's mostly to tell you when they go on vacation :\ |

best suggestion we've seen in a long time. this could really hurt but would be for the best imo. |

Design and implementation are two different things. I'm not defending the guys implementing stuff (walking up hills is still a painful farce) but I doubt they decide the damage values of weapons.
That's why this game has so many problems. It isn't good ideas poorly implemented or bad designs well implemented, it's bad design poorly implemented.
I was about to mention that the game's performance has been improving but then I remembered Chromosome and all the stuff that broke, while on the design side the CalLogi was idiotic in its inception. So while the devs are slowly improving the game they'll continue to trip over small stumbling blocks until the new EP comes in to hack and burn in order to salvage what he can. Should be fun to watch. |

You don't release unfinished **** to the console market and expect people wait to get your **** together. Unless the new ep can change that nothing will help. There are better studios out there that have their **** together in the fps market.

Knowing some of the things Jian was personally responsible for...
I'm glad. Maybe DUST has a sliver of a chance now, many problems that never should have been can be traced to him. |

What I would like to see for Dust is CCP shut down the servers for a year in a half and release the game back on the ps4 where they have better hardware to work with. At the pace they are going the game is becoming very boring, but I continue to play because I still have hope of what the game can become. |
