Actually, no. It's been a while since I've seen a nova knife, and I'll give them credit for when they manage it. The nova knife is a challenging thing to use.

What I am griping about is people thinking we need more mele weapons in a game where we have mother ******* space ships and shot guns and grenades and other nifty things that kind of make pointy sticks obsolete. It's kind of special. Like a short bus. That kind of special.

No. Just no. It is supposed to be 20,000 years INTO THE FUTURE! There are flying cars. Space ships. Guns that can wipe away whole cities from orbit. We can travel from star system to star system in the blink of an eye. We can communicate across the galaxy in real time. We can dump a mind into a new body in the time it takes you to blink.

Now, to people who claim that melee is too weak, too pointless, I feel that it is where it should be. I have gotten a few melee kills before. Last one was basically luck. Las build, running a laser, close range, ran out of ammo, basically got the guy by the skin of my teeth. I had no points invested in melee at all. This is a game dominated by guns. Your fist shouldn't over power an ass hole with an hmg. You are not the incredible hulk. Get over it.

As far as the nova nife, that's where it should be as well. High damage, capable of downing most suits pretty quickly, but it takes the right build and a LOT of player skill to make it work. Overall, a tricky but dangerous thing. I grant you, frustrating as hell to fight, but not op or unbalanced.
