I have taken up afking in the MCC because people are idiots.
I'm a sniper.
The latest trend is to stand in front of me so that I can't shoot anything. Or call in LAVs and hope they drop on me and kill me. Something else they do is if I have a nanohive out they throw grenades till the hive depletes.
So now it's either afk in the MCC or afk with someone standing in from of me. |

if someone wants to stand in front of me I move, and if they continue I move to a place where they will get shot.
i've never seen anyone stand in front of me long honestly, I rarely stand still so it would be a full time job for them. |

I see you are new here and would like to inform you that it is a cruel but highly rewarding place to be.
Most snipers in Dust are not effective in helping the team towards victory. I know you would like to believe that you are different and that you do in fact help your team. Let me stop you right there, you don't help. If you enjoy sniping, please, by all means don't stop doing it as I would never tell someone to stop doing what they enjoy.
Just know that this game offers many more things than what you get to see from the mountain below the MCC you spawn in.
Good luck and see you on the battlefield.

Yes, I have stood in front of a sniper or 2. Usually after I am forced to spawn back in to the redline spawn location or the mcc for the 5th or 6th time, in a vain attempt to see what you are shooting at, because it was not the blob of 10 enemies that just slaughtered the rest of us at one of the objectives or the enemy sniper in their redline or elevated position that is shooting at us.
I will also do it when I see a Red and Blue sniper crouched next to each other and can't help wondering just why you have tunnel vision fo such a degree that you aren't even looking around.
I also wonder why if you are 20 meters from a resupply why you would need a non-triage nano-hive, and also why the sniper didn't switch to a default free Anti-vehicle suit to at least harass a dropship or ground based vehicle enough to allow someone to actually advance to the objective.
Enemy snipers always seem to be better than the ones I have, I can count on one hand the snipers or those that have sniped on my team that are not in my corp or friends list that have actually helped the team. |

Tips for snipers (if you actually want to help the team):
Find a spot where you can at least cover one objective and make sure to kill anyone that comes close. If youGÇÖre within running distance of an objective, go cap it, and then run back to your little nest.
Check the kill feed often. Saw a sniper kill? Find them and kill them.
When you see uplinks or hives, destroy them. ItGÇÖs really useful and not hard so long as you can see them; aim for the middle and a few shots kills it. Snipers can destroy uplinks on roofs faster than infantry.
If you see team mates surrounded by enemies, please, at least just wound them at start. I know killing will give more points and bolsters your KDR, but assists help your team mates. You can take quick pot shots at all the enemies and then concentrate on killing them. Infantry will praise you for actually helping them this way.
Highlight enemies and vehicles with your sniper rifle. When you highlight them, infantry sees them. Stay on top of what is going on in the battle. And as stated above, if youGÇÖre not particularly busy with the sniping, how about grabbing that totally free swarm fit in your inventory when a pesky vehicle is harassing the infantry?
Well, thatGÇÖs my tips for tonight. Bedtime.

seriously, I agree with everyone who says to move, and if you set up a hive, make sure you are some distance from it in the first place. Nothing says "shoot me" like a glowing blob of color pulsing around the idiot sniping too close to their hive. Besides, you have two hives with standard, it's extra points and heck, if they are spamming grenades from your hive, then you are probably in a crap spot anyway. Just saying. |

Most of you snipers do nothing to assist the team. Especially when the tides start turning against us, snipers will still sit on their perches and no don't a thing to help. Don't even switch out dropsuits to assist. |

So now it's either afk in the MCC or afk with someone standing in from of me. You must be one of those snipers that just sit and camp while your team is being killed by other useful snipers. I'd call a lav on top of your any day. I have a bpo for them so why not |
