Not to make any problematic conversations, this is what I heard from SONY:
"On 1/28/2014 Sony Computer Entertainment will terminate the online service for the Playstation 3 Title MAG."
Some of you might not have heard of this but its a good thing im putting it out there. We, MAG players, had a good run o7 |

MAG lives on in DUST. I use my SEVER logistics 95% of the time I play Dust. CCP please fix the spelling it's SVER. Thanks

I really wish people would give up on this pipe dream of a MAG 2,because it's never going to happen.
I must admit though,I'll probably be playing MAG for most of the month of January,which depending on the official release date of the PS4,should be enough time to find some of the bugs in the new console,then when the MAG server shuts down for good,it will be a perfect transition into the purchase of a PS4.

holy **** here we go to....mgs4 was one of my favorite games brutha...i remember it like i was yesterday..great music in game to..really tactical game man..unfortunately they never had a wa to automatch with the friends you had..you just had to try and sync together...but good call on these titles guys

I have a feeling that unless Planetside 2 drastically reduces the length of grinding on PS4 vs it's PC counterpart,there are going to be a lot of people that are in for a rude awakening.
Without the proper balancing for console,it's just going to be the same story all over again.
People need to start putting their chips on another game,because PS2 more than likely isn't going to be it. |

to be honest nothing replaces mag..the ******* company zipper was a fail...stupid fools.they could have made so much still to this day from mag they wouldnt have let it fall. |

This is a real shame. MAG will be sorely missed.
I go back every now and again to see folk are still playing it but I don't really stick around as it's a chore to get anything other than Sab or TDM.
I really hope Sony have another one in the pipeline for PS4. PS2 is good an all but a "real world" massive action FPS would be a big win in these modern era shooter days. |

Played some MAG with PHI today. We got up to 6 people in our squad.
Needless to say, we got wrecked hard by japanese players. hahahahaha Damn I missed that wonderful game. |

MAG was the greatest Online FPS I ever played... i wish i could play it again back when it was possible to play Domination at any time... last time i played (actually a few days ago) only Sabo was playable and i ended 4 times in a row on Darien (my least favorite map)against sver.
are the other maps not working or is it just bad luck that i have to play on Darien every time? :/
i really hope that one day a FPS thrills me like MAG has done.... |

MAG was my favorite game for probably 3 or 4 years. I left about a year and a half ago though to come to DUST and I've never looked back.

played battlefield, Call of duty, counter strike, unreal tournament etc... but all on Computer and yeah there were ok. but i like playing on consoles more and MAG was just fking awesome.
the Forum (& Dramas there :P), my First 100 kills game the friends and all the other stuff....just great times. and no other Fps could give me that feeling... or come even close to that. just look at dust...it feels already dead and every game is just a tryhard fest....proto-pubstomps while everyone is spraying around their ARs. :/

MAG was one of the greatest multiplayer FPS of all time. Sorry you missed out. CB's were 32 vs. 32 at minimum. The leadership structure was amazing and the comms system was excellent. Most every top corp has/had roots in MAG (many have left recently though). A lot of top players were also maggots. |

Some groups planning nonstop Doms for at least a week to send it off, maybe longer if enough people are game. I'll definitely be giving her a last hurrah! I had been planning on vetting out of Valor into Raven again, but probably not a good idea, as Raven has had realllllly low numbers every time I've checked over the past several months. :^( |

Loved mag. My group of bros all played it. Same tradition of Thursday " game night" for dust now but we are all missing MAG dominations. When dust adds new content I hope they look at mag doms and even the vehicle capture game mode (can't seem to remember the name)
Quake is where I got my fps start (online at least. The true start was wolfenstein). For those who know don't you miss the grappling hook?

MAG wasn't the first "Massive" Battle Arena game. It was "Joint Operations", that supported 150 players ( 75 in each team ) About 10 years ago.

10 Years old PC ...I'm sure the PS3 surpasses that level of technology. In fact.. why you don't poke around for some Ex-Novalogic employees CCP ? As far as i know Novalogic is not doing much at the moment. |
