Ok, so, I have an ALT and I have chose the Minmatar Logi suit based on it's racial perks (hacking buff). I feel that in certain matches, this fit would benefit my corp. I am up to hacking lv. 3, and i gotta admit, i am loving this fit so far. the only thing that is stumping me is the total HP. as most of you know, the minmatar logi suit is base *roughly* 90 shield, 150 armor. it is my intent to fit as many codebreaker mods into the low slots as i can...firstly because of the racial benefit, and secondly because there is no stacking penalty. soooooooo that leaves me with survivability. at proto, min logo has 4 hi, 4 lo. how would i go about tanking this drop suit knowing that all of the low slots will be filled with codebreakers? shield extenders all the way? even that would leave me with what......around 300 shield? total around 500hp? i'm just estimating the actual numbers...just looking for some insight. this is an ALT after all. thanks for any input. |

If you filled the low slots with Codebreakers as you said, then Shield Extenders all the way. You'll end up with around 400 shields to go with that 150 armor.
You can also dualtank it by using one or two Ferroscale Plates (yes I said that). With two Ferroscale Plates you'll end up with 250-300 armor. |

Would switch out a codebreaker for a Complex Kinetic myself. Speed means more survivability and being where you want to be faster. The chief advantage we have over granny hackers is we can exploit far narrower windows of opportunity. Part of this is having the speed to get in there and capitalise on that brief opportunity.
As for tanking, within your given constraint seems a simple enough matter of running Extenders. I'd go full buffer myself for a MinLogi and just be cautious within the prolonged downtime after being wounded. That extra health could be the difference that makes the hack go through or allows you to escape afterwards.
If you could ditch the codebreakers for one fit it is also possible to dual-tank it. Hive/T-Hive/Needle/Wildcard build for running with Heavies and Gallente mediums comes to mind. 2 Ferroscales, Enhanced Vanilla, 4th low for a Kinetic? Gain an armour buffer to better benefit from your Triage Hives while still being faster than most at a sprint. If the speed don't matter to ya maybe another Enhanced Plate. Might also make the 4th low your compromise, fitting a CPU/PG booster, so there's also that.
Minny is versatile. Don't lock yourself into thinking it'll only really perform with one kind of setup, experiment. |

with the mini logi the most you need is 2 codebreakers
so generally a hack suit will want
3-4 complex shield extenders 0-1 10% damage mod 1cpu mod (if you need it) 1-2 basic plates
and your 1-2 codebreakers |

I have proto mini logi, i could post a few numbers for you and builds and tell you what fits what doesn't fit. only discrepancy is that I don't know what weapon you will be using so i can't calculate for the total cpu/pg use on the suit. I do have most if not all core stats at lvl 5 too so if i knew a bit more about your points spread i could try to tell you what will fit and what you will need to work on. |

the best thing to do is dual tank
extenders in highs, plates in lows
you can of course do pretty odd things instead (extenders and stam/speed mods)
hack mods ( 3 second hacking)
shields with high regen (not terribly effective loses the advantages of 10 m/s speed and its regen isnt all that great even if fully dedicated to the task)
high armor and damage mods in the highs (week in current build due to the reign of explosives but very well suited to long range combat)
its one of the most versetile suits, its not going to be the BEST at any of these roles but it can do ALL of these roles.
minmatar are the jack of all trades |

I'm actually working on this exact same fitting and had a similar one with the speedy logi suits back in Chromosome. Since they homogenized the logi suits, I've found it a bit harder to recreate the fitting since the stamina and regen was so crazy back then, you really need a cardiac regulator- even more thanks to the stamina nerf. Anyway, focus on a complex kin cat, that's literally going to be your lifeline and that extra speed to cover the map is a huge deal. Next, try to get at least an enhanced cardiac regulator to maintain that sustained running. Some people would suggest dual kin cats, but I've always preferred sustained running over just having the diminished return from 2 speed mods. Last but not least, your code breakers. Depending on your weapon and equipment you might only be able to fit a singe complex but I'm only up to enhanced right now and they work like a dream. High slots, all shields or 3 and a complex energizer depending on your remaing PG. As far as equipment goes, I usually ran with a stable uplink, RE, and had different fitting based on the final slot. Primary weapon is a little tricky with this one though. I'd say shotgun hands down, but with hit detection still iffy, you'd have better luck with nova knives. AR is always good if you can fit it, but if not, go for an ASMG. Range cap in 1.0 made it viable as a primary, 1.3 has made it ridiculously better and if you're good for a bargain in CPU/PG. If all else fails and you don't have your core skills maxed, there's always the Flaylock which is still stupidly good, don't let anyone tell you different. Just keep in mind that this isn't a fitting meant to go head to head with anyone. Stay away from the team and hack peripheral objectives and instillations, keeping them under your team's control for as long as possible. This is overall a fun build to use and can easily turn the tide of a match. WP gains aren't half bad either. My last record with this was ~3900 on the Ashland map, keeping all the instillations under my team's control. Last but not least, never, ever use this fit on Manus Peak. |

I recommended the regulator because to my mind all suits need at least one. 8-10 sec with your shields down can seem a very long time hiding in a corner waiting for a recharge. Yes I wouldn't put it on the basic suit as it needs the plates but is certainly an option for the more advanced ones. Its a suggestion, I would never tell someone what to do. The beauty of the Min suit is you can drop around 6% speed due to armour and it still (ok only just) be faster than the other medium suits. |

Thanks everybody who gave advice...I have some great ideas as far as which direction to go in. As far as the weapon, I chose to skill into the SMG when I started the ALT, so since most confrontations will be close quarters, I'm not gonna deviate from that. It didn't even cross my mind to dual tank...but with base HP like the MinLogi, I suppose that's my most viable option...survivability and speed, along with a quick hack. Definitely not a front line merc, but I enjoy the roll and the teamwork involved to pull it off effectively. Thanks again everybody. Keep the suggestions coming. |

i was unaware. i'll have to theory craft with some different fits if that happens. i should still be able to pull of a decent hacker fit, even without the racial bonus. i say that now...then they take it away and i finally join the club and start a thread on how we should get respecs. hahaha, never. i'll take it like a man. might cry myself to sleep over why i grinded the past couple months away, but i'll never scream respec!!!! |

Might still retain it. There's no definitive evidence suggesting we'll lose it, just acknowledging the possibility.
At the very least those of us who went into Systems Hacking precisely because of it's synergy with the bonus will still be benefiting from that.
Besides, the most obvious replacement for it is ewar and that ain't even in-game yet.
...Unless we pull the real dud and get a bonus to Remote Repair. |

I hope not, that's one of the best logi bonuses and the reason why I stuck with Minmatar over Gallente. There's a lot of people that probably made that decision. It's not like it's OP or something.

all logi bonuses will likely get changed to things that are more "logi" specific. Things like equipment for one. It is hard to say weather CCP sees hacking as something in the logis role or if hacking is more assault or scout related. |

There's two ways to "tank" a minmatar logi. The first way is speed armor, and the second is speed shield. Every other way to fit a minmatar logi are for either logistical or infiltration purposes, which I will not get into.
Speed Armor:
3 complex extenders (can replace one for a damage mod) 1 enhanced energizer
1 enhanced plate 1 basic plate 1 enhanced ferroscale plate (this plate nullifies the speed reduction of the other plates) 1 complex armor repair
This gives me 321 shield with 30 shield recharge 380ish armor with 11.25 armor repair 6.89 sprint speed ____________________
Speed Shield:
4 complex extenders (or 3 and one energizer)
2 advanced regulators 2 complex kinetic katalzyers (can replace one for a complex/advanced codebreaker) |

Here's how I did it on a standard minmatar logi- Shield extender Shield energizer Shield regulator Armor plates
The plates give the majority of the eHP while the shields are a constantly-regenerating buffer. |

Hacking takes you out of the fight. In a standard squad makeup would the Assault hack while the Logi covers him or would the all-out combatant protect the tech while he gets to it?
The real competition is with Scouts.
...why are we limited to one racial bonus, anyway? Couldn't they just keep the racial suit bonus while adding a racial equipment bonus? |

I'd recommend a combination of kinetic katalizes, stam regulators, and code breakers on the slot (i'd use 1x kin kat, 1x stam reg, 2x code breaker (though you will prob need a CPU chip)).
and on the high slots's shield extenders all the way.

I used AUR for a proto suit so I could use four proto code breakers , and HOLY ****!! Things get hacked in 3 seconds.
I would suggest spending SP n electronics since your gonna need the CPU, and anything else to reduce the consumption. Just make multiple fittings with the same general principles of what you want.

You can shield tank: 4 extenders or 3 + Speed You can armor tank: 1-2 extenders, 2 basic feroscale, 2 Basic or 1 basic 2 enhanced You can dual tank: 3 extenders, 3 plates You can speed tank: 2 extenders + 2 kin cat, 2 card reg.
Pretty much you can do whatever you want, it really depends on what role you want to fill at that moment. Most versatile suit in the game by far. |
