I'm getting the impression from the forums that everyone wants all the suits, vehicles, drop ships to be killing machines. I was under the impression that many of these suits/vehicles are actually meant to support others.
So what's missing?
Are we just incapable of strategic diversity and just want to kill kill kill?
Or is there not enough incentive to play support?
I run assault but try to remember to lay down ammo or droplinks as often as I can. Feel these offer plenty of points although I think the points should scale with quality of module (i.e. high level nanohives which give more ammo also give more points).
Dropships don't seem to offer any point incentive to use them as troop transport. Llavs are just used as murder taxi's and are difficult to operate as support vehicles.
I think rather than worrying about altering the armor/damage of vehicles there needs to be an increased incentive to use them for their intended purposes.

You know, I hadn't thought about it until your post, but ninite-injectors with toxins you can inject the enemy with sounds awesome.
Or repair tools that cause radiation damage like smart bombs.

How about repair tools that sabbotage installations. The installation becomes useless but if hacked by an enemy they explode?
Or maybe offer a voice recognition point system, where after a kill if the other players mic registers swear words the killer is awarded 10 wp.

We need scouts with dual equipment slots back and more EWAR related modules like ECM, Scramblers, Target Painters, Webifiers, NOS, and Cloaking. |

I only know what half of those things are. But agree, items that scramble enemy radar, and target painting would be good. But that's all about adding in additional content, which would be slow to happen if at all.
I'm thinking more of taking what already exists and just modifying the how a player can gain points for it.
Also, player revives should alter a medics k/d ratio. |

It's amusing how people don't realize that playing a supporting role as a Logi while getting some kills here and there nets you a massive amount of WP therefore at the end of the match netting you a large amount of SP and ISK.

I melee'd someone to death while holding a repair tool once. It might have switched weapons when I tried it, but I like to think I logi'd them to death.

It's called power playing. Diversity of roles and support efforts are too much of a role play thing when you think about it.
Like most any game these days most people just go for the most direct vanilla combination to win win win.
RIght now that is Proto assault suit with Duvolle rifle. Spam uplinks, spam nanohives then spam grenades while at least two guys spam murder taxies.
Rinse, repeat and win.
This is why every time you get a weapon that is OP all these power players spam the hell out of it.
You just can't allow for certain factors as if only some people will take advantage of it.
This is why snipers are despised, the scout role has no use and guns won't mean **** vs. aoe spam weapons at the rate CCP is going. |

Guys, why don't my drop uplinks have a turret that automagically kills any enemies that get near it? |
