Played this game briefly during the open beta. Forgot about it. Then saw an article on JOYSTIQ about MMOs on consoles and thought I'd try it again to see what changes have been made since I was last here.
Amazingly small map.
Only one map at that.
8 vs 8 deathmatch only battles.
The game area is too small and the match is over in less than 5 minutes. I'm completely underwhelmed. I know the game is free to play and all but wow. I thought "FREE REALMS" and "HAPPY WARS" were bad, but this is much worse. |

Welcome to Dust, shame you joined when CCP just changed the Academy system to be what you described. Today they released another "map socket" for Academy so that may help. Prior to this you would be placed in all maps available and with different game types.
Once you are out of the Academy (10K WP), you will be playing with the Proto guys which is different game, some think its bad others say its character building, you can decide if you stay around. |

You fought in the new Academy system that's designed to try and help new players into the game.
If you'd kept going, you would have left the Academy and gone out to the 32-player matches all the rest of us play.
In addition, why didn't you use your same old character? |

Yes, I played in the BA when I last tried this game out. I thought it was much different back then. No offense to people who like this game (and who can post in a forum without being a troll or fanboi), but I really don't want to grind away at this to reach 10,000WP just so I can actually play the "real" game.

Don't worry we have something called the CPM its a group of vetrean players that read your concerns and express that concern to CCP developers..
Unfortunately for you and all new players experiencing the same frustration with the new starting appeal of Dust... These wannabe valiant CPM members either don't play the game anymore or are completely arrogant... They probably think you are a vetrean smurf proving a point in order to change the system to grief new players....
Have no fear, stick with it, spread the word to friends and family and know that your concerns are not going unheard... Some of the "veteran players" that seen this coming via the patch notes two days ago have already raised hell for you ! |
