It appears to me that the suits and weapons are broken and are not worth the ISK we pay for them (most not all) and should be addressed.
I currently wear Prototype Caldari gear, with prototype modules, equipment and weapons, and to my astonishment when i first went into battle with the fitting i was quite disappointed, as no sooner than i said hey that guy is made of duct tape, he had danced around me and killed me with militia gear, now I thought at this point 'oh ok that's fine he was lucky' then again when i spawned in another duct tape bandit killed me with the same trick, running at me headlong not caring about the fact i am a proto suit knocking the hell out of his shields, sidestepping like a pro, running out of his main and switching to a sub-machine gun and then quite accurately if i might add emptying the full klip into me in 5 seconds flat.
Now to the point, proto suits and guns are meant to be the best of the best, and quite frankly they are not, and so people being people they find the best OP weapons they can get. I personally list them as follows;
- Gallente Assault Rifles - meant to be only good at shot to medium range, but do the same damage and accuracy at longer ranges - Mass Drivers - meant to be effective against armored targets, but weaker against shields. Wrong very effective against both, also very good at taking out tanks with them (as I've witnessed) no matter what type.
Flay-lock pistols are not in this as i feel they are a hard weapon to master.
So onto the suits, very simple the better the suit the harder it should be to kill, and no im not asking a the difference between militia and proto be massive like 100-200 extra HP for proto suits, thats just stupid, all that needs to be done is, resistance.
Yes its that simple have for every tier of suit so militia up to proto give the suit more of a resistance to weapon fire, something like;
- Militia 0% Resistance - Standard 2.5% Resistance - Advanced 5% Resistance - Prototype 10% Resistance
See simple and would make the suits more worth there while to get a hold of, and wouldn't make them too OP for new players and would teach them not to run at more advanced suits and weaponry.
On another note the weapons that i have not mentioned in this post should be slightly tweaked further, as to standardize the weapons so that they have slight advantages against certain targets, not the massive ones we have now on only a few of the weapons.
Anyway rant over, Thank you for reading this :), oh and CCP please fix this it will make the game more enjoyable to play than it is currently and is probably one of the main reasons why we are not seeing any new blood in the mercenary grinder.

Are you seriously trying to say proto gear should be an "I win" button just because you suck and couldnt kill a guy in militia gear despite the huge gap between that and proto gear? |

proto gear does give you a distinct advantage. more slots and cpu/pg lets you tank your sheilds/armor waaaaay more than someone in militia gear and your weapons will be somewhat better.
If someone takes you out in militia gear they have likely spent alot on their skill trees and/or are very skilled fps players. They deserved to take you down.
making proto gear more powerful, on the other hand, will just make the pub stomping that much worse.

Maybe you just suck?
Prototype gear is fine, adding damage resistance to that degree would only encourage pubstomping. Making it more frequent and to greater severity. |

Working as intended. Your proto gear should not make you unkillable, and a well fitted Proto Suit is MUCH harder to kill than a militia suit, maybe you're just not fitting it correctly |

I don't even know where to begin. A player using proto gear already have an enormous advantage over a player using advanced gear. Militia gear, then, is just... Just because you have access to the best, most expensive gear in the game it doesn't mean that you are entitled to win. There is a lot of skill too into it. Actually, skill should be the bulk of the game and gear just the icing, but as we are right now proto gear is already very difficult to overcome just with skill. Buffing them is not a good call nor is it necessary, sir. You just have to get a little better. Trust me, you say the advantage is not big enough, I say it's more than enough in the right hands. |

I would also like to add
just because its MLT gear does not mean that this player you speak of didnt have core skills maxed and FPS skills in general
also he could of had his MLT assault rifle at lvl 5 sharpshooter lvl 5 and pro lvl 5
making all of his MLT gear better then somebody who has not invested the proper skills in their proto gear |

Thanks for all the hate guys, really did expect as much. I was just pointing out a few flaws in the game, Especially the Explosive weapons in the game, but meh i tried to post something people can debate on, rather than harass me so... meh.
By the way this is only targeted at the few not most of you. |

Despite all the harassment I think you had a pretty good idea as far as separating the tiers and making each a bit more unique outside of appearance and loadout, but at the moment there are a lot of other obstacles that would need to be cleared before something like that could be implemented.
Sure it's not a perfect idea, and he didn't really ask for proto suit to become invincible, but overall it's not a bad thought for the sake of diversifying that much more. There are just a lot of supporting mods that would need to be added first because by itself, it wouldn't be a great experience |
