So I had a thought and I don't know if anyone else put out a thread on it but:
I wonder if more skilled players would run in War Academy under alts just to help the noobs get the hang of things? I mean, I went through war academy three times and those last two times I spent a chunk of it helping some of the new players.
Just a thought, hopefully a helpful one or maybe even something constructive to do.
.....lol i'd do it for sure if i got paid or didn't WP out of academy to run it. I like teaching people and learning things from them. |

When i ran through the academy with my two alts, I'd always invite new players to squad with me and my corp-mates. Not only did they learn the maps and strategies by playing with players better than them, they learned squad play and comms, arguably the most important thing a new player needs to learn. lone-wolfing it outside of the academy is oh so bad an idea. |

Maybe as an alt, but no, like a long term runner. I know dust uni is supposed to help and from what I gather they do, but...idk.... I don't know much about that part of things |

Agreed, team playing makes it a better experience over all when your still learning. I will always be grateful to the very patient guys who were willing to help me through academy |

Perhaps the Academy could have places for specially dedicated tutors.
E.g. A week in academy automatically being made squad leader, & automatically assigning noobs to that squad. You earn no isk, but at the end of your week you get a BPO of a standard weapon.
Sound good? |

See that would work great. I wonder if CCP would consider it?
The turn out rate would be fantastic I think.
Actually that was something along the lines of what I was thinking on my drive home from work. But I didn't consider the BPO part. |

Only one allowed from each player corp? A great recruitment opportunity without being abused.
I like the potential this has. |

Oh yeah, and if you don't think they will work well with your corp for whatever reason, suggesting to them a different corp that fits with their niche would be beneficial over all.
It has fantastic potential |

Well, not everyone would, but I'm sure some people would get a kick out of it. Especially looking at it big picture instead of time intensive. |

Perhaps it could be corp decided who takes that kind of position?
Also, what about the starter corps for the really big ones? |

Something very similar yes, I wasn't aware of that particular thread, but I haven't really been on the forums until recently. |

I just keep looking at it as a way to be productive instead of destructive. Not so much caring, although that part would be beneficial when it comes to teaching new players.
It's like this, say I recruit two new people to play the game and they each recruit two people, an automatic six man squad if they all play at the same time. But if they don't play games like this, something I admit isn't really my style, then it would be for their benefit to have a more experienced player teach them. Still, looking at it from Chunky Munkey's suggestion, we gain players who will be more aware of how squads operate when they get out of war academy. It's a win for corporations if they pick up Logistics who know what they're doing with that needle or rep tool. Or have someone who can actually understand the how and why of driving a drop ship. You get more diversity on the squads.
Too many times have I been on a squad where there are no Logistics but Heavy Oriented.
A group of Heavy Suits benefit from a trained new logi more than not having one at all.
Like I said at the beginning, it's a thought, and I think it's a fantastic one that could be tweaked. Less rage quitting means a better player and fan base. And rage quitting happens when new players come out of academy and get hit by OP players. It's a hard lesson to learn but it does affect the game. |

This could be an excellent corporation role, "Designated Academy Liason" or something. Someone able to enter the Academy with a militia fit and work hands on with new players. CCP oughta actually take a look at something like this. |

Okay, so I ran this by a few other players and they agreed with the idea. Happy Dance! *coughs* anyway, it feels even better knowing that players I can actually talk to over mic agree.

I help people in the academy when I'm bored.
All I do is call in 3 to 4 LLAVs for others to use, start running people over, and hope they follow my example. |

That's not exactly a fine example of teamwork there |
