Well CCP, you've just shown how pointless passive scan modules are.
They do NOTHING worthwhile.
None of them are worth losing eHP/Regen/Speed/CPU/PG/Stamina/damage over.
So yeah, go on, fix it. |

25% radius bonus or better with a better module seems like it might be pretty significant if you have the scout suit skilled up as well. I think you could easily get into the 20m range for passive scan radius. This seems like it would be kind of awesome. Still not sure if it would be better than more armor, armor repair, or a cardio regulator. |

I have scanning maxed and use a complex range amplifier on my mass driver fittings. It comes in pretty handy with situational awareness since I rarely get snuck up on anymore. Scouts are still a PITA with their inherent dampening bonus. |

Still don't think that it's worth the SP/Module slot.

If you're a logi, just use an active scanner. You could squeeze one in on an assault, but it's a bit pointless, just level the passive up. These are actually meant for scouts anyway, so don't expect them to be all around useful. |

Scout HP is so low, adding on shields/ferroscale really isn't going to help anyway. I use the scanner/dampener combo on a scout alt with a TAC AR and nova knives. You die a lot, but you also get a lot of kills by taking pot shots like a scout sniper or trying to play MGS 514. I'm either going to invest in some damage mods or wait for the gauss rifle. The scanning bonus could use a slight buff and I think dampening might be broken. |
