So boys, lets talk about the combined ambush. Personally I don't agree with it and im respectively asking to change it. But I don't think its something to "go off" on ccp about. There are positives to this change. Your going to be see players that you might not have been seeing as often last patch. Which might not mean anything to some people. We'll see how it goes. Anyways the whole point of this thread is don't make yourself look like a ******* because of a small change. Im sure they will change it back after enough feedback. But raging qq is just going to make you look like a whiny blank blank blankety blank. Ya feel me? |

Haven't played yet, but less game modes is what we've been asking for for a long time now.
It's been hard finding something to play with all of our game modes, this should help calm things down a bit. |

i think theres probably an equal amount of the player base , like me, who dislike playing any variation of ambush and stick with domination and skirmish exclusively. i dont think we will see a change back to how it was tbqh. |

TBH, Skirmish and Skirmish: One and Only should've been the ones merged.
Add one Objective to the shuffle and make it so you just can't spawn on Objectives at all, that's the change that should've been made IMHO. |

Its better they do it this way because of the limited player base. The more options, the less amount of players in each game.
It probably also simplifies what they want to do on matchmaking and collecting data to refine it.

ambush now put you into either mode or a combo of the 2? |

Lets do the math, folks, for the matchmaker:
Game modes = 6 ish (Ambush OMS, Ambush, Skirmish, Domination, FW Battles, Academy, PC Battles)
Hypothetical Distribution = (ambush OMS (20%, Ambush 10%, Skirmish 25%, Domination 22%, FW Battles, 10%, Academy 11%, PC battles 2%)
With 4500 people playing:
Ambush OMS (900 players)
Ambush (450)
Skirmish (1125)
Domination (990)
FW (450)
Academy (495)
PC Battles (90)
Then you also have to realize not everyone is on the same server, then not all of those are available to queue at every moment (only about 10%-15% are at any given minute). So you easily see that game modes like skirmish really will have about 2-3 teams worth of people to work with right now depending on how long the queuing is.
The fewer lobbies and the longer queue times there are the more 'fair' the matchmaker can be.
Below a certain player level though, even if Einstein made love to IBM's Watson, and they had a kid who was taught matchmaking from eharmony's Dr. Neil Clark Warren for his entire childhood and young adult life, and then was forced to slave away mindlessly matchmaking for this game...
That love child could not possibly make fair matches with such a small player base. |
