I would like to request damage profiles to be split up into the 4 damage types of eve, Thermal, Explosive, Kinetic, and Electromagnetic. This would open the door for more module types like damage specific hardeners and make ammo choice key for winning battles. I think the ammo types from eve would also add to this game by having to tactically pick how much of what types of ammo to carry. For example for hybrid weapons antimatter in eve reduces your guns range by 50% but hits the hardest while Iron barely scratches paint but it ramps your range to 60%. I think all the minmitar in the room would squee at the thought of being able to shoot nuclear and fusion rounds at people and proton rounds at those pesky caldari, and various crystal choices would go a long way to fixing the laser rifle. It needs the radio crystal to be that mid long range gun it wants to be. |

This would result in a lot of added complexity. The current system without ammo types and without 4-type resistance was probably one of the better design decisions made.
Maybe ammo, with 2-3 types per weapon (maaaybe), but fully fleshing out 4-type resistances is bad. The current system should be able to support hardeners however, such as an armor hardener that hardens against explosives (but not projectiles), or a shield hardener that hardens against scrambler/laser/flux but not plasma/AR/whatever.
Ammo could be done as two fitting slots (varies perhaps) that allows you to pick a double load of one kind of ammo or one of each. Requires no CPU/PG. Could switch ammo using weapon-wheel. Ending up with two ammo counters would be a negative, but I'm not sure it would be a good idea either to let people switch types with a shared ammo pool, as this makes choice less meaningful. |

I'm definitely against a shared ammo pool as well. I could live with the simple damage resistance system they have now but I do enjoy the complexity eve has and would like to see it brought into this game. Complexity is not bad as long as everything makes logical sense. I do think the simple system was good to get the game off the ground though. |
