Hi all,
I had a pretty funky Ideas about some more NeoCom integration with the Orbital's.
I was thinking you could deploy it from the NeoCom itself - at the moment you can only call it in (and then after a short delay while the animation of you pressing the button on your arm) and it uses the map overview, I think it would be cool if you could point it from your wrist - kind of like a lazer designator, so you point it at the area you want vaporised and it comes in after a short delay (maybe 3-5 seconds).
I also thought you could set it to target a specific part of the map - using the map mechanic already in place, you could set a checkpoint or marker and then when needed - and drop the precision strike in that area, this would give you time to coordinate your squad for the follow up, you could mark it on 'A' for example, get your team in position, launch it and then rush in and mop up. You could also then use it defensibly, you could set it on your friendly NUL and when it's contested, drop it in and carry on with your business.
I really, really like the NeoCom (it's come a long way since the Beta) and I'd love to see it implemented more in game - maybe even with real time scanning - like a module you can equip that works similar to the hand-held scanners, but that's a different topic.
What do you guys think?

I would like to see the orbital in the squad orders menu intstead of having to call up the deploy window. Just a shortcut in the squad irders wheel that starts the animation and brings up the map. This will make deploying orbitals easier. |

It was a lot like this in MAG, you could press select to pull up a map for long range and precision targeting or you could press one of the Dpad buttons for line of site targeting allowing you to aim at a group of reds that you may not be able to see on the map. |
