... Well it seems Test and Friends are going full at it with Cluster @#$ Colation/ Goons and they're fighting over the station at the moment. There are dozens of warp inhibiting bubbles up most likely on the capital ships to prevent their escape. Support and all other ships are generally following orders to take out target lists.
The largest black blobs you're seeing are capital ships the second largest specs are all battleships and are most likely operating on alpha target listing thus concentrating fire. Smaller support craft are trying to jam logistics, kill other support ships, dedrone and tackle other battleships thus overall trying to reduce each other fleet's effectiveness where possible.
Ard to tell who's winning hard to tell but time dilation is full, the guy streaming it down to 2 drones and only one deployed, hes going ewar duty. According to his target listing he has on track what seems to be a couple hundred targets he keeps track of, Overall it's not looking good for test as the sandwiching maneuver really doesn't work in space. |

Imagine what that would be like (the picture at least) if the "penetration" game mode would be out. That Avatar (giant golden space-*****) on the right side of the screen? It would have a far cooler battle going on inside of it, and it might end up switching sides, or just 'sploding (not sure what is supposed to happen if the attackers win in penetration). |

And that's why it would never happen. It would be akin to having your dropsuit suddenly explode in the middle of a match because someone else in some other game won theirs. In EVE, ships are your dropsuits, and when you die, you likely won't be respawning anywhere near the battle, especially if you get your escape pod out and have to fly it all the way back across multiple systems just to grab another ship to fly back to the fight with.
With large fights like those, however, time dilation (a lag-fighting mechanic) will make it to where only 2 minutes pass in the area the battle is in while you're tkaing 15-20 real time minutes to go grab another ship. |

Well Test can easily reship as the station is right there. Hostiles have a long trek home unless they got some staging area setup before battle as a retreat and reship point. |

have you ever been in one?
biggest one ive been in was about 20 or so, and that was the furthest thing from a snorefest....
it may be odd to watch or to not know whats happening... but that battle probably took a month of planning and its all going to be decided today.
in that battle you have the first strike force, probably a bomber team warping in and out, a sniper team that comes in after the targets are settled and snipes from the sides. massive carrier battles int he center that are decided by how well the FCs call their targets and direct the repairs.
with that battle there will be a smaller battles in an attempt to prevent the attackers from getting reinforcements.
someone else is probably using it as a giant distraction to attack another region while the attention is drawn somewhere else.
its kinda like a real war, but shorter. |

when you ship gets blown up, and your in that pod thing......

You know what would have been cool if there was a boarding party of Supermercs raiding those caps and supercaps to hack or shut down essential systems that would allow for control, destruction or use on the ships allies before they realized what had occurred.

you have to fly the pob, and if they blow it up you wake up in a new clone far away. and if you havnt upgraded your clone to hold all your SP then you may lose some |
