First off i know i am going to get some negative feedback, but please understand this is not a Nerf Statement or even anything like that. The sniper Rifles in this game i feel are appropriate in almost every way but one.... Which in my opinion is countermeasures.
What do i mean? I mean that i feel that snipers are difficult to avoid in this game not because of the weapon but a little bit because of the openness of the maps making it a little too easy to be plucked off. At this point there are many skillful snipers in Dust that can pull off some incredible shots and they deserve their kill. Many times we get killed by snipers who are behind the red line and we cannot kill them as a infantrymen unless your a sniper too or if you are in range for a forge gun. I've seen many snipers go 10-0 to 25- 6 to even 30-0.
Those of you who have not skills into sniper rifles understand how frustrating it is to be kill by an enemy who you can't see and if they are skillful snipers you cannot progress in some maps. Now there are ways to get around snipers such as LAV's and other Vehicles.
So this post is mostly a feedback post for you guys. Leave a response on ideas to avoid snipers or even possibilities of future add ons to allow more mobility.
Maybe they could add a sort of riot shield (probably not a popular idea which i understand) which absorbs rail based weapons only or something that takes up a primary slot leaving you with only a sidearm to persist with more tactics more movements while the snipers could still shoot at your feet if you're standing. Maybe even a Excessive CPU module that is specially absorbs more snipers rounds. Idk this isn't a rant post this is a feedback and brainstorming post. leave a respond with your ideas or tips to avoid snipers. |

Actually, Riot shield + Heavy + smg = viable heavy. I'm down, even if you can put the shields on scoutsuits |

The only counter-sniper measure that I would add is better hit/bullet direction detection. With that information, it's not hard to find where the sniper may be hiding, grab a militia sniper with complex damage mods (I personally use the covenant, same damage, just more rounds per mag), and kill or scare the bastard. |

But its come to my attention you're left with either sniping with a militia equipment which is useless against a prototype heavy sniper or hoping one of your teammates have snipers who are running higher level snipers. |

A few things I would add to counter against snipers, you can judge them as you see fit.
-shots more then 500m decrease in damage such as with other guns on their respective ranges.(all guns need a effective range) -greater presence on the radar after they take a shot, in respect to how powerful of a rifle they use. -fixing of terrain glitching which provides to much protection to snipers. -Snipers taking extra time to spawn after being killed (implimented in other games not sure if people would want this) -no firing any shots out of the redzone into the regular zone, -Teams having spot detction instead of just squads. -Better hit detection -Modules for damage resistance similar to what the vehicles have, could make the modules damage type specific instead of just general damage resistance. -Better radar detection in general for the game and not for just against snipers.
