currently the leaderboards are just a mess of miss information,it needs cleaning up so it can be used as a tool for quality of mercs and corps.some of the current problems are:
snipers who abused sniping from the mcc before the patch own most of the top kd/r's with little or no deaths
afk players with the highest win/loss ratios sometimes in the tens of thousands with only a couple of kills own most of the top spots,
there are even players and corps in the top 10-20 with zero kills, wins,losses,wp. it needs sorting out. this goes for the some corps as well.
some people work their asses of and over time improve considerably but are looked down on via the leaderboards because learning and advancing takes time. but with the leaderboards as they are now no one has an accurate account of their current abilities.
having a monthly reset allows for merc to show what they are made off |

Agreed. The leaderboards are worthless at the moment. Along with the contact lists. Though I do recall seeing that the both of these issues were being addressed soon. |

making it reset shows the competency of every current player of dust and allows you to better select corp member to fight your pc battles by showing their ability to play for that month. how do you select a guy who hasn't done pc before from pc only leaderboard. it wont work. it has to be all |

The leaderboards are not very accurate as far as 1st second and third places go and I think that it needs to be fixed for a more accurate way to tell who and what corps to watch out for and who's going to be a challenge. |

The boards also haven't been reset to account for the skirmish bug where stats from that game mode were not being included in the totals unless one side or the other was cloned so there's a further layer of distortion present in the current rankings game wide. Some sort of cleanup clearly needs to be done. It also wouldn't hurt if the current leader boards were made sub-headings under more general considerations such as PC, FW, Pub (ideally the "Pub" heading would actually be divided by game type rather than just being one catch all).
Setting up the boards that way allows for corps, and those hiring corps, to see not only accurate stats for the mercs in question but also where those stats come from, it makes a big difference how you earned those stats at having sub-headings would at least help show more of that.

it would also be nice if it showed your current place on whatever board your looking at instead of having to scroll through 1000 names only to find out your not in the top 1000 lol |

out of the top 1000 for win/loss there are 1000 players with less than 69 kills but over 1186.29 wins/loss ratio going all the way upto the top position of 68 kills and 12370.32 win loss ratio. you cannot honestly believe that is worthy stat for the leaderboards in its current state |

As a software engineer, too much data mean nothing. At least make a "This Month" and/or "Last Month" scoreboards. and scrap all older data if you want it to be "simple". |
