I play as a Sniper, 98% of the time solo. But last week I was invited to a squad and it was awesome...the teamwork, the orders coming thru the mic and the team moved and our side won 4 out of the 5 times I ran with them....but...I didn't feel that I did as much as I normally do. I was watching over my squad and not roaming around shooting baddies and blowing stuff up...
So here's the question...
would you rather I...A) watch over the squad and give intel on stuff and get 300 wp or..B) run and do my own thing and get 1000 wp for the team ? |

I would also like to add, in addition:
(option C) - cover objectives and prevent their capture by lone attackers as often happens - groups of 3+ success cannot be guaranteed |

you do your own thing generally but call out any observations you make such as vehicle movement etc. if the rest of the squad is near what you call out they will say so and if necessary you can switch targets to assist.
as a sniper your in an ideal position to see the bigger picture of the fight and intel wins battles. i myself roam as pure AT to support my team and react to every call. but when there is nothing about to kill i'm on the maps or scanning the battlefield calling out intel.
there is more to supporting your squad than just killing people |

*sigh* it's a good thing you weren't ruined by the change from Chromosome to Uprising. Sniper's made excellent Squad Leaders (now they're just useful sorta). The good ol' days when I could find a nice perch as survey the land. I could tell my squad who and what was heading their way, then pick people off before they met up assuring my squad's victory. Now I can only see the enemy if my teammates see them first But instead, I still shoot the guys before the fire-fight starts or pick people off before they can kill my HMG guy that's reloading. Most of the time, now, I get to a high spot that can cover 1 objective. My eyes are on that one, it belongs to me. From there I can try scanning for enemies or vehicles, Or we start red-lining them and I just go for kills... Too much pub stomping in a squad. You'll find me going solo or not touching my beloved 'Covenant' at all. |

If you're a sniper and you're in my squad, you get squad command priority, I'm gunna be asking where to drop OB's, asking how many people are coming in on A, marking high priority targets up. Obviously, if you see someone you take the shot, You'll earn 1000wp faster working with a squad, that you will on your own, especially with the leader marking up targets etc. |
