Hello guys,
As a logi I pride myself in trying to keep people alive, so to this end I have been looking at ways to kill off those pesky LLAV's and these are my results:
Tactic type: Suicide BAIT ( you don't always die if you get it right.)
Weapons: Proximity mines and remote explosives (you need both if you are to do it alone or a fit that permits you to put down a minimum of 8 proximity mine. This fit only need you to have level 2 remote explosives.)
Tactic deployement:
- Put a nanohive down in an safe area.
- go to the place where the LLAV will most likely pass; place the 3 proxi and remoest you can carry.
- Go to the nanohive and restock on proxy mines.
- Put down one more proxi mine (your total cap of 4)
- stand BEHIND the mines and in a direction where the LLAV hast to pass over the mines to get to you,
- When the LLAV is in front of the explosives pres the trigger. (Remember to press the triger before it gets to the explosives to compensate for the lag between activation and detonation )
- Enjoy the kill
Now suffice it to say, your remote explosives do not detonate your proximities anymore like they used to but the car will do this for you. In some cases the LLAV will not die but will shamelessly run you over. This takes skils so practice every chance you get. When using this fit, you will not be of any other use to your team unless you can refit after. If refitting is not possible I suggest to make use of the explosives after you have dealt with the LLAV to reinforce points and bottlenecks.
Remember this tactic is only possible with a logi suit. It makes it impossible for you to do anything else except shoot your gun and restock your team and do to the BAIT nature will most likely get you killed. |

completely true but when that happens I destroy the LLAV since when the battle ends you don't get to keep it and it goes back to the owner. For me it's all about the isk war. Aim for their wallets not their hearts. |

You'd be surprised, I've destroyed three (Standard) LAVs today by just using 3 REs.
Most of the time they fall for it, especially if you place it in a shadow. |

most of them are not dedicated LAV drivers

I prefer the McBob way, get a MTL or STD LAV with a blaster turret and chase the LLAV and have a gunner shoot at the driver which is not as difficult as it sounds, kill the driver, hack his LLAV and move it over the redline or just destroy it there and then if you can be bothered. |

the problem with this tactic is that most of the people who kill the driver and hack the LLAV then proceed to drive it around the rest of the match "murder taxiing" and it most likely survives to go back into the original owner's inventory at the end of the match ... no loss, and LLAV problem not solved, just switched sides ... and original owner can call it down again next match. |
