Alright, as a Mom of an 8 year old girl who wants a cell phone and make-up, yet still uses ufc moves on her brother, I understand that children can be....trying.
Unfortunately I'm learning that a good number of the younger generation players are, well jerks.
I ran into one the other day who begged me, without mic mind you, to squad up with him.
I'm wayyy out of war academy, he was not. And didn't get that I couldn't go inot battles with him unless they were merc.
Then we went into a real match *cough not cough* and he got blown to crud by advanced and protos. Complained that I didn't protect his dropship.
In retrospect, odds are good I won't even notice a dropship in air on my squad unless someone points it out to me.
Anyway...i'm rambling. I told this young boy that he might be better off if I left his squad (my CEO is forever lamenting that I'm nice) so that he can finish war academy and not deal with protos so quickly.
I think I got guilt tripped, or not, probably don't care if that's what he tried. Regardless, I got tired of hearing him squeak out, "great and magnificent -insert name- die for my country and my squad"
Anyone else have that urge to ask the youngsters to at least show that they can play a game like this?
Heck, he complained about me not killing anyone while I was spawning in....hence, aggravated assault.
As a side not of thought to myself that; yeah, i'm sharing: when I teach my daughter to play, I will point out that being polite to the adults go a loooong way |

It has it's moments where it is amusing, the rest of the time I feel this urge to smack em in the back of the head, you know, to smarten them up

The kids who act like this can be few and far between, but when you find them....I dunno, makes me question breeding rights in certain instances.
I know that's mean but come on!!! You've probably thought it once or twice too! LOL |

My worst Nice girl experiences are all with the 12-15 yr old crowd spamming me with messages all the time. They're generally non-offensive, just en-masse.
It kinda makes my skin crawl a bit and yeah, my normal squad mates get a laugh at my expense. |

I know that's mean but come on!!! You've probably thought it once or twice too! LOL Not necessarily mean, just honest. Something I learnt while working for the US Census: "In order for there to be an average, half the selected samples need to be below it." I had that epiphany while doing data entry, some of the stupid **** people would put down would've amazed you.
Probably not, I work Retail, my favorite question will always be, as they stand under the sign, do you have a restroom? |

I know, I'm an idiot and a ****. Doesn't stop me from laughing (which is the important part if you ask me).
Holy Crud that made my sides hurt laughing. Yeah, that is the important part.
Heck, I've laughed while playing the game.....as my ceo complains because he was riding in my dropship (after I told him not to get in) while it flipped over a building then nose-plowed into the ground. You have to know when to laugh and what to laugh at. |

Nevermind that most gamer boys brains short circuit if they hear a female voice on comms, soo...
I block them, or get out of squad fast. Although some are rather persistant. It won't kick them as far as I know.
And I guess an oops to the short circuit |

No offense, if you don't get it then you might be one of the one's who gets ignored a bit as well. Although...I do recall shooting you a few times so I doubt it.
My point is, for the challenged individuals; these kids are jerks with no manners and if you are going to let your own kid play, teach them to be respectful of other players.

To be fair, I've met more....jerky mid 20's than anything else, however, what I qualify as a kid tends to run the range of 6-21. My coworkers constantly bemoan their never ending fate of being called kiddo inspite of the drinking age status.
I've run decent teams with kids (in that age range) and don't have an overall problem with them. It's more the way that they speak to a person that really makes the difference. Oh...and the lack of cyber stalking. lol! |
