Press skirmish and you join a battle between Caldari State and the gallente federation.
And I join on the gallente side, quit and try to rejoin, again the gallente.
Don't force me to choose a side. A little bit better but still - forcing me to play as gallente versus a faction like Serpentis. |

Those probably weren't technically faction warfare battles. But just highsec battles between random corps. |

Look at the security status of the system you are in. Are you in low-security space (0.4-0.1) or in high-security space (1.0-0.5)?
If you are in low-sec space, you are in a faction warfare match.
If you are in high-sec space, you are NOT in a faction warfare match. |

Why do you care who you fight for in fake battles? And if you make Instant Battles like FW, what's the difference between them then besides one being real? |

I phrased this wrong.
I pressed the instant tab. Sent to a battle between Caldari State and The Gallente SCUM.
Other times it's Gallente Scum versus a random pirate corp.
I don't want to be forced to play for Gallente. And if I spend my time playing a virtual space marine simulator I might as well be free to care about the lore. |

Er... you really have no choice in the matter. The only time you can choose your faction is in factional warfare. |

Instant battles don't affect anything, so they don't matter. If it helps try not to look at what corp is contracting you. Maybe in the future we could have a setting to limit whose contracts we accept, but seeing how instant battles are just there for the SP and Isk, and don't have any bearing on the universe, I don't see why bother.
Edit: You could also try only playing FW battles from the mercenary tab. There you can choose a side, and fight for only the kalamari all day.
If there's a battle going on. |
