"But games based on GÇ£leveling upGÇ¥ a character such as many massively multiplayer games allow one player to have material advantage at the beginning of a GÇ£matchGÇ¥ merely because he put in more time than the other player. Seek out games that do not artificially stack the deck, but instead reward only the player-skill that one takes into a game."
Hog is suggesting that Dust 514 is avoided by anyone with actual talent. |

Quite the opposite
Even in gear based games such as Dust there is a skill based meta, it is however vasty lower due to being gear based
People running around crying cheap in the one "competitive" mode (PC) however is insanely scrubbish and hurts Dust to the eyes of a competitve gamer, as does hiding the competeive gear behind 13 weeks of grinding |

Interesting read, guess I'm a scrub, but that doesn't bother me too much. I usually find that people that are compulsively obsessed with winning in video games are so because they are losers in life and besting someone they have nor ever will meet in person is all they have going on for themselves. Or they are just really competative people whose A type personalities will give them heart attacks before 50. |

After all, they say, the purpose is to win using any legal means, period. IsnGÇÖt that what I have said? First of all, some of these activities may not be legal in a tournament. Second, they violate the principle of goodwill that I described above. And third, I am not convinced they offer any real strategic advantage. They are more likely to make you look stupid, and create an air of negativity that will follow you."
OK, now im CONVINCED that this article does NOT apply to Dust 514...or its forum!
Good read though.
