seriously? So basically all the new players have super ****** up skills because they didnt know what to train or what weapon they like?
This is REALLY bad and a huge turn off.
Even eve you get 2 skill resets |

Even eve you get 2 skill resets You don't get any resets in Eve. You get what are called "Neural Remaps". The skill system in Eve is purely passive, and the time it takes to get a new skill is influenced by your "Attributes" (which can somewhat be seen as stats). The remap lets you move points around to make minor adjustments in training time.
There are no resets / respecs in Eve. |

There are no respecs after Academy, though we've asked for it, but honestly you should probably go through Academy a couple times on new toons until you feel comfortable with various elements and then start again from scratch to really maximize what you're enjoying and good at.
It's always good to make a burn-character for testing new skills in Academy before skilling into them on your main as well. |

You are correct, the Nural resets was what I was referring to. In eve you generate MUCH more SP per hour thereby aquire skills faster. So as a noob you can not mess up to bad before you finish the tutorial.
This is a FPS and the expectation of being able to 'try all the guns' or play styles is not unreasonable. Granted you are trying the milita versions. But in Eve you do not 'try all the ships' because its a MMO. So if its a bad comparison fine. But as a FPS I find it hard to expect people to choose an 'arc-type' without any 'opse I hate that' reset on day one. |

MMOFPS, it has both elements. there are milita variants of most of the weapons that are alot easier to get to.
But to a point I feel most people are missing, No Spent SP are wasted. ok you dump sp into smg's but find you don't like them. ok, you don't like them now, a year from now, maybe something changes in how you play, and you look at your skills and go hey an SMG would rock on this fit.
As you note, Try all the ships in EVE, I have, I do, my main character can fly preety much everything in New Eden, do I like all of the ships, no, but i can fly them, and do, but it took time, 8 years to be exact.
the game has been "live" for 2 months and "active" for 7 months. In EVE I could have gotten 1 racial frig to a decent level. I know alot of people will say, this isn't EVE, no It's New Eden, unlike most shooters wich have a life span of 6 months to a year, Dust514 will be here for a while longer. giving you all the content in 6 months would make the game rather pointless.
I agree that during the NPE the fact that it takes time to gain skills, should be explained. that to get really good will take a long time.
When they radiclly change everything, like when they completely changed the skills, the did refund sp to everyone.
I also agree that If they massively change how a skill set, or gear works, those points might be worth refunding. But if something new comes out changes the way people fit, or it changes how people look at your role, no. |

no you don't... you get a stat remap that determines how quickly you learn various skills and you get another once a year... but any spent time and sp on skills is never refunded... learn before you rant... |
