If you're engaged in close quarters fighting, you obviously don't want a Sniper Rifle, you want a Shotgun. The Assault Rifle is versatile and can be useful in a number of situations, but it's rarely the absolute best weapon in any circumstance. The design goal in DUST 514 is that all weapons have their roles where they excel and others where they are weak. CPM AMA 7/24/2013 Summary Report // Corresponding Dev Post CPM AMA (Ask Me Anything) was widely successful with the channel hitting 80 participants and a large amount of questions that after 3 hours we had our fill. Hopefully the CPM will try to get more AMAs out in the future and hopefully other CPM members and more questions can be asked as the game, CCP, CPM and community evolves. Not AUR invested, but I seem to remember having read an announcement last year during the closed beta about AUR resets to encourage use of the currency given then upcoming character resets, not sure if related.
