I was reading through the forums and saw a few threads about maps and how players want more diversity and different maps and it got me thinking....
Just imagine how this game can become.....
Fighting in the great halls and along the golden streets and grand monasteries of Amarr Prime,
In the mega metropolis of the Caldari home capital,
The vibrant streets and markets of the Gallente federation
Or in the rustic , beat up but ceremonial towns and cities of the Minmatar.
As I sit here and think of what level design could become in this game, I am in awe. Can CCP do something like that? If they do, I mean really do make very distinct 'Capital' districts this would be awesome!
I shall leave you with some pictures and examples....

Minmatar - It was hard finding some artwork for a Minmatar world so instead I'll leave this really cool link here! [Make sure to scroll down!]

Too lazy to get the link, but a dev stated back in beta that they had no plans to do city maps, and it was in response to someone posting that very picture of Amarr Prime. Furthermore, if you go to Amarr Prime on our Dust star-map you will notice it doesn't have any districts. |

Really? Well if that's true then that absolutely kills the immersion I pictured this game able to have in the future.
I realise currently there are no districts on a lot of planets but I was under the assumption this was because barren / desert planets would come first as they would be the base to go from, as well as being the easiest to create. (Lack of buildings, structures or intricacy) |

The imagination fuel burner that is DUST 514 is appeased. Your cool ideas will be expended and refined into fine particulates for the industrial manufacturing of various AR models.
EDIT:Just messing with you I personally like any ideas that would make the game grand and elaborate. |

(Lack of buildings, structures or intricacy) The ones that are grey don't necessarily not have districts, rather they are not temperate planets and like you said, barren or lava or gas planets and such. However, all the planets that are blue in the star map are temperate planets and you can zoom in on all of them. So far every temperate planet I've looked at has districts except Amarr Prime.
Not saying it's a good idea, in fact I'm equally upset that they have no plans for this stuff.Just spreading the word. |

I dont expect them to do everything all at once, but I do hope they diversify the map pool more so. They obviously have the tools to create some unusual structures and scenery but I fear they dont want to commit development time on really making truly unique maps.
They dont even have to create whole cities, just some town sized built up areas would be nice. Right now we have what I would call small out posts. |
