Ok I am one of those guys that before did not want to see respecs given out anymore and that people need to stick to their choices but later down the road I think there should be like 1 final respec or some partial respec for things that were changed. People have mostly called for respecs when the FOTM gets nerfed and they see it as no longer a viable option for easy points. I don't want a respec now but with Dust's development I think they should be considered. Cause Dust is apparently no longer a beta far too soon when half the stuff CCP have thought of haven't even been added to the game. We're still missing suits, weapons, and a lot more that would make the game a more finished product but with stuff to come. Such as CCP said the skills on Logi suits and others are only placeholders till they roll out the real skills. So I specced into Amarr Logi and like it but then when the real skills roll out I may be left with something not of my taste.
Also people who run scout suits are left with only the choices of Gallente and Minmatar and what if those skills change and some players may like the Caldari or Amarr variants. Some people say that "well you should know that new stuff is coming so you should save your SP" now they are right about that. But the thing is our SP is what keeps us at a competitive level with others and makes sure our gameplay experience doesn't become for repetitious by running different suits and weapons to at least try something new after we get enough SP instead of waiting for god knows how long till we get the bulk of what is planned such as at least all race variant suits and more weapon variety especially heavy weapons. Cause also...heavies have had only 1 race of suit options.
So this is not my reaction to the FOTM being nerfed but instead down the road when at least CCP gets the right skills they want to be associated with what and more of a complete selection of equipment is available at least offer like partial respec in the specific field that will get changed dramatically and not like offering respecs cause of people whining about balancing such as the Caldari Logis whining. But when things change dramatically in a person's chosen skills and equipment or when finally they are given more options such as heavies, a partial tree respec should at least be considered. |

I think we should get one every major update like they did at uprising because by the time DUST 2.0 is out most of the stuff they wanted to add will be in the game and they'll have a new list of things they want to add for DUST 3.0. |

Like Im not asking to give out complete respecs every update but instead when something changes dramatically or a whole lot of previously not there options are added. Such as right now all players that want to be a heavy have been forced into the 1 Amarr race of heavy suits. So when all the new suits roll out I think they should at least refund the heavy skill tree. Not the weapons nor the equipment and not the vehicle skills if they have any. Just the heavy tree of skills at the moment. Or like how they said the current Logi skills are only placeholders and don't represent their final specialization so when the real Logi suit skills come out they should at least refund the SP thats in the medium and logi suits. Not complete respec but a partial one for whatever has been changed dramatically. |

But why give them respecs when these are the same people continually screaming for more? More content. More weapons. More entertainment that will keep their attention with Dust. You see, people just want things without considering the other side of the coin. I say no to respecs because it goes along with the tough exterior of Dust. You skilled into it and they changed it. Fine. Why should you be given a respec? If anything, that's a new challenge for you to spec into another variation of a fit or role.
These guys respec, play their hearts out having much fun killing folks, then get bored with it and then take to forums about how CCP should now offer more content. It's a two way street that kills it.
I just wonder how many more crying threads will happen once CCP nerfs those flaylocks. You know its going to happen.

Because its a game that should at least try to appeal to their actual sense of war. Its like playing out as some of the race's completely forgot to make something. Cause I mean really. The game already has a low enough player base at least at the moment try to appeal to others when you're game shouldn't have even come out of beta yet when there is A LOT missing. That why I say partial respecs when there are actual dramatic changes and add-ons. Not when people cry for it when their shizz gets balanced and not overhauled example Caldari Logis and Flaylock users. Those aren't overhauls they are instead balance fixes. An overhaul would be actually allowing heavies to go into more than 1 race of suits or the changes to Logi suit skills when they are finalized instead of just placeholders. That instead of refunding all SP when something gets overhauled instead only refund the SP that is attached to the changes.
Example: When all the heavy suits get released at least refund the SP that people spent into the Amarr Heavy tree. Not other suit skills, not weapon skills, equipment skills, or vehicle skills. Just the Amarr Heavy tree refund if desired.
Yes we play to keep getting more but many things have been held out on us. Also Scouts are only limited to Gallente and Minmatar with the Caldari and Amarr coming...I don't even know. The game is missing a lot and should at least cater to people when many things are missing. When all the suits get rolled out and the skills associated with them are less of placeholders then I will completely say "No more respecs.". But until then...Im still now going to think there should AT LEAST be PARTIAL respecs when there are overhauls and additions of core things missing. |

You can count me as one of the HTFU, no respec crowd for the current trail of tears, but periodic respecs are pretty reasonable. Certainly if an entire new group of skills shows up (example: everyone else gets heavy suits, not just amarr) or some major change to the entire skill tree of that signifcance, it would be ludicrous to say too bad, have fun for the next few months trying to get back up to proto in what you really wanted but didn't exist yet b/c we didn't want to program it. |
