I'm bad at this game.
Really bad.
Like .2 average K/D bad.
I'm so bad, that I won't even bother trying to learn to use another weapon aside from Assault Rifles, scrambler pistols, and grenades, both due to lack of playtime to learn it and a flat out lack of skill (yes, i'm that bad). My question is like this. When I finally manage to grind up the 314,000 SP i currently need to get AR to level 5 and unlock the proficiency....is it going to make me at least able to kill someone of equal gear, standing totally still, shooting each other in the face? Because right now, ladies and gentlemen, I'm THAT bad. Just wondering at what point the SP i've been dumping into the skills actually makes a difference. Also, try to stick to my question....not really looking for advice in other areas. I know I made bad skill choices when I first started, taking some skills much further than they needed to go, some that I just wanted to try, etc (I started just after the last respec, or I would have fixed these issues. patiently awaiting the next opportunity). I'm just trying to decide if I want to continue this toon or keep 3 empty slots for creating a new one (Edit)every time that I play so that I can actually get in a fight with some people who might wander into my AR rounds by accident. Thanks! |

What is your total SP?
What skills are you specced into?
Give us more information. Just because you have a good gun, doesn't mean you're durable on the field. You need good armor, shields, speed and stamina, and just need to learn tactics in general. |

I will say that once you get the AR to 5 there is a noticeable difference in the kick/dispersion. But you should start to feel it by lvl 3. I'd say it's worth it given the OP, it's just a lot easier to hip fire, ADS, etc |

Well, seeing as my first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D at release, I might not be as bad as I say...some of that was exaggeration. It's not really tactics so much as...I specced like a ferret with ADHD and delusions of being a bear. I've got around 2.5mil SP i think, somewhere in that general vicinity but I'm all over the place and some of them are specced too far (dropsuit command @ 5, that kind of stuff that I didn't know any better at the time. Command sounds powerful, ya know? ;) I'm just wondering if I should make this toon go BOOM before I get too far into it and too attached to a bad character. Sometimes the sentimentality attached to all the hours spent on a character.....and then there's the all powerful name! i really like this one :P |

You'll find people here will alts and stuff but if you don't have a ton of time to play the game I'd say just keep what you've got and get it on track with something specific. You may have spent the SP even though you don;t need it right now but sometime down the road you may need it even if it's 1+ year later lol.
I'd say dont waste what you've already spent juuuust in case you stumble into another respec or you manage to get your char on track you wont have to worry about that 1st 2.5mil. Once you get your AR's where you want them to be it's never a bad idea to focus on core skills (dropsuit electronics/engineering) so that you're able to play around with fittings and different things to see what you like.
My vote: keep it and just clean it up, give it some direction |

Awesome, thanks I'll keep plugging. glad it's not completely trash, plus if I wanna go heavy when it gets its turn in the FTM rotation, I guess I'll always have that option having already spent the SP there.....thanks again! |

There are stickies at the top of this forum with skill planners, fitting tools, and a pile of role specific/general help threads too so trust that the answer is out there lol. |

Starting off I felt gameplay was more enjoyable from behind a heavy machine gun. Mostly guarding objectives, but when the enemy comes one at a time you get a fair bit of practice at hosing them down. |
