The installation option has been on TACNET for a while. Just wondering when I'll be able to call down small turrets to mow guys down at the objective.
And if this does get implemented, I have an idea on how to make it work.
Basically when you select your installation, you get a laser pointer that shows where the installation will drop. There'll be an outline version of it. If the outline is green, you're good to go, if not, tough luck. And as for indoors it would just materialize, just like when you recall a vehicle except in reverse obviously |

I like the idea of calling in a defensive structures. Say, landing 2 or more towers that extend a shield against incoming fire. just a thought |

Not sure about them materialising out of nowhere... people would argue vehicles should be able to be called in like that too.
Although that probably wouldn't be such a bad thing. I get sick of those RDVs some days...
The problem I see with them right now is how strong should these installations be? Prior to Uprising, I found less people destroyed the neutral large installations in battles. Now, they're just free WP for tanks, forge gunners and swarm launchers.
Why call in an installation for it to simply to be destroyed before it's put to any good use?
Or maybe we're talking REAL small installations. Like HMGs mounted on tripods. Weak, cheap, but potentially useful because we could make them undetectable until they fire?
