I have 10% shield resistance from the skill, and another 6% from the logi lav skill. So why is my total shield damage -37% without any mods? Ive always wondered why the resistance is so high, is this a bug? |

It probably is a bug and CCP is just clueless about what they are doing.
I mean, they didn't notice that armor reps were at 3 times their intended value for quite a while, and also they only fixed the MD as part of a mishap when fixing up a release, so the assumption has merit. |

This would totally explain why AV nades do virtually nothing to LLAVs even compared to what they do to shield HAVs. |

I am in the office and unable to check on my end to be sure if this is also in effect for the armor LLAV. For some reason i was under the impression that LLAV's had a inherit damage resistance as part of their role. To balance they used to have a damage penalty to any turret equipped.
This used to be noted (penalty) in descriptions but not sure if it is now and not sure if the turret penalty still applies.

From the Dust Wikia
The Light Attack Vehicle (LAV) represents a new generation of mobile support vehicle, an agile and effective unit, adept at assisting both infantry and other vehicles on the battlefield with its cadre of electronic warfare subsystems and all-terrain maneuverability modules. Whether employed as a scout vehicle or as an anti-infantry unit, the LAV is a ubiquitous part of New Eden's modern battlefield.
The Logistics class has decreased damage output, but is equipped with superior armor and shield plating allowing it to withstand more punishment. Additionally, each Logistics LAV comes with a built-in special edition infantry repair tool, allowing it to support multiple allies at the same time.
This seems to back up my earlier statement. |

I thought it was intended to have a base damage resistance before skills due to being logistics. Does the logistics dropship also benefit from a base damage resist? |

This seems to back up my earlier statement. that is the old one the ones don't have the "The Logistics class has decreased damage output" part and tell you if it repairs shields or armor. so it reads as
The Logistics class is equipped with superior armor and shield plating allowing it to withstand more punishment. Additionally, each Logistics LAV comes with a built-in special edition infantry repair tool, allowing it to support multiple allies at the same time. this particular model comes with build-in remote (shield/armor) functionality. |

Thanks Ladwar for looking up the update to the text.
I am under the impression from very basic testing (i.e using one and then the other - nothing scientific) that the penalty to damage still applies. Has anyone else tested? |

That may well be the description but if there really is any buff to armor or shield resistance, it absolutely must be listed in the stats and at the very least must be shown on the vehicle fitting screen. |
