This would eliminate at least 90% of the complaining that comes with any patch. It will allow both infantry as well as pilots to test everything out, if CCP gives permissions to certain people, with a copied alt character that only has access to the test server at certain times, probably when Devs are on, so as to get immediate feedback. This would allow for more precise tuning, as well as giving a chance to those assigned to the test server to give their own personal feedback about what CCP is doing.
Pilots would be able to test changes, as well as infantry being able to test out new weapons, suits, etc. Us pilots would get hands on any new vehicles and modules, as well as the pilot suits should they come after 1.4.
I'm posting this because I remembered it now, and if some of it doesn't make sense, I'm posting while drinking, and drinking because things are screwed up and I need things to do, like drink.
Bah, I'm rambling now. Discuss |

Richiesutie 2's comment aside(not to be rude but I like speaking with a "what if this happened" mindset as apposed to a "is this possible" one) I think it's a great idea.

Updates to content still come via the PSN, and just like in EVE, this would likely require the download of an entirely different client.
As well, based on having to use the PSN for updates, which they don't need to worry about with their internal build, they'd now have to significantly slow down their deployment of new content to that test server, which would defeat the purpose in the first place.
This isn't the same environment as a PC game. |
