I kept seeing the "what role does a logi player fill" thread and I started thinking about the definition of logistics, which at it's core really means to maximize profit. So, in this line of thinking, logis do maximize profit, but there have to be more ways to do it than just "save a clone". So I keep thinking about logi's logistics, and maximizing profit on the battlefield and it hits me.
Salvagers.
Your squad just get done killing a pesky squad of proto suits? Salvage them to get some of that proto gear off of their dead clones.
Just get done wrecking a tank? Salvage it. Blaster installation? Salvage it. MCC? SALVAGE IT |

Logistics are to facilitate combat that is the bottom role.
Meanwhile it was under discussion about salvaging stuff, like a what was jokingly called a zombie needle, stab a guy and you 'scrap' them. There was some back and forth though about passive modules as well but I am not too keen on it because I am not sure how many people would want to reduce combat effectiveness just to earn a few more scraps. |

You are right about that. But why not a salvager module on logistics vehicles? |

I wouldn't even be in favor of the zombie needle assuming that'd be an equipment slot, because I'd imagine many people would go for that and all that results is less people with a piece of equipment that can help the team.
Better salvaging is needed, but it has to work completely independent of your fitting.

The current system wouldn't be so bad if we could at least have the option to reprocess stuff that we get as salvage into ISK. Maybe below market price. |
