Being a front line assault merc is awesome, I feel like a super sci fi Rambo, It is exciting to team up with others and take the enemy head on in a front line assault dropsuit however if you ever been stalking a enemy mercenary on a hack job and right before you kill the enemy hacker you hit the ground, " Oh crap that pesky sniper ruined a perfect kill and saved his buddy." awesome job sniper. After getting sniped all you can think about is swatting this fly off the roof top or mountain top but wait I can't reach him because that coward is in the RED ZONE or someone with a dropship transported him to top of the largest building on the planet. Snipers are awesome but how awesome would they be if the RED ZONE didn't protect them or the building they set their campsite on could be assaulted, what would those pesky cowards do? What are your feelings about the RED ZONE ? because I always felt like the Red Zone was spot to reorganize, regroup and get your equipment safely transported to you without incident. I guess it is also rest haven for cowards to camp in as well. I think you shouldn't be able to fire your weapon system in the RED ZONE until you leave the RED ZONE what are your thoughts ? |

Too many snipers on your team and you're guaranteed to lose. Not enough and just one sniper on their side is a serious headache.
Keep one sniper fit handy in case nobody on your side is playing counter-sniper. Odd thought, I know, but it happens. Sometimes you don't even need to run sniper for very long to make their snipers retreat to uselessness. |

if we send a team to the red zone we r all around better than them and red line snipers don't do much if any damage unless u redline them completely
A win is more important than KDR and if they do it the whole match let them since they aren't helping the team as much anyway |

Then if your team is red-lined, have fun walking out of the red zone with 16 gun barrels aimed at you... It's not an easy problem to solve. Red-line snipers (both tanks and infantry) are annoying, but getting rid of it is not as easy as it may seem at first.
I think the best solution would be to ensure that the red zone has no line of sight towards any meaningful objectives. But that's not easy to do without massive map layout changes. I suggested some kind of wall before to block line of sight, but I'm not sure myself how practical that would be.

Are you saying that currently snipers cannot target objective areas from the red zone? If that is true, then I guess everything is fine after all (at least when it comes to infantry). |

The redlines need re-worked. Not removed, just tweaked.
There are vantage points that are perfect sniping points.
You can cover a couple of CRU's, three objectives and several choke points on the Ashland Map which ever side you spawn on. The problem is, one of them is way out in the Redline, the other is just in the redline but close enough to get shot in the head (which is fine).
On Line Harvest, if you spawn in the North the redline is way to close to the battle, but there is a nice position to start sniping from, at the start of the fight, which is in the redline.
The buildings in Line Harvest are the worst spot for a sniper/swarm launcher to be, because there is no cover, you will get sniped (only been on one once, didn't like it).
So as a sniper should you say to yourself "I know, I will move from this prime position to somewhere **** because of the redline." or "I better move because someone will call me a coward" or do you just say "**** it" and shoot the **** out of anything that moves. Difficult choice.
No sniper is invulnerable in the Redline, everyone of them can be killed there, you just have to want to do it.
People complain that they shouldn't have to change to a sniper rifle to kill snipers, that's fine, you don't have to, but don't come complaining about snipers if you don't.
I know that when I see certain squads in the match, that I'm going to have to hit and run, because if I sit on my lazy arse I will be dead in a matter of seconds.
Good players countersnipe. Good squads send someone to **** a sniper up.
