What if we didn't do a bounty so much as a 'kill right' kind of system. The main effects would be both a bounty 'claim' but also the ability to kick that player out of the match in FW/Pub. Here's how it'd work.
Claim: Each death consumes (not pays out) minimum 100k isk regardless of target value. The bounty pays out at 50% of total target dropsuit/vehicle value. So there would be the continued bounty payout, and 'bounty fear' for as long as you had a bounty on your head. So a bounty of 1 million, would pay out at most 10x.
Match kick effect:
Step 1) Player A places 1 million isk minimum bounty on Player X. Step 2) Player X queues up with his elite squad to farm for the day. Step 3) Players are looking at the player list while waiting for battle. Step 4) Player B sees that Player X on the opposing team has a bounty.
This is the important part
Step 5) Player B claims the 'bounty right' on Player X prior to match. Step 6) Now Player B and Player X effectively have what in Eve is called a 'limited engagement'. Step 7) Now if Players B or X find each other on the battlefield they can eliminate each other from the whole match!
If B kills X (and he bleeds out), he gets the bounty and X leaves the match (losing everything and getting no reward from match). If X kills B (and he bleeds out), the same happens, but X gets no bounty, and the bounty remains as prior to the match.
if either is revived, neither is kicked, and the limited engagement remains. Ofc vehicles cannot be revived. But if destroyed when the user isn't present, they can pay out the bounty.
This way, there would be a kind of 'pain' from players with bounties on their head. Bounty hunting could be somewhat dangerous as it means you could risk wasting your own time in battle. |

I Think a bounty system would be fun, I dont think it needs to be this complicated though. Select merc, "show info, add bounty, + 1,000,000"
now your merc that kills him sees, + 50 wp +1,000,00i0 isk Ca ching. add a icon to there name on the leader board and your done.
you could get more complicated later by adding "requirements" like kill target 5x. or type up a reason, or see the bounty's in a list in the MQ and que against people with bounty's.
would be fun. |

Well you can't just make it pay out the full amount of bounty like that. It has to always pay out less than their loss. Otherwise, nothing stops thier friends from killing them and collecting the bounty. Then you've just given their friends (and them potentially) more isk.
Also you would want it to 'hurt' more than normal. That's the point. A death is a death.
Having the knowledge hanging over your head that you COULD be potentially removed from a match at any point becomes a lot more terrifying. |

I think the bounty system should work like this:
You select how many kills you want that person to receive. And you select how much ISK a person gets per kill.
I don't like the idea of a kicking out system, because top players will be constantly attacked and booted because everyone will always want to kill them. |

As long as you understand exactly what I'm going for.
It'd be a 1v1 kind of thing. You'd get a declaration at the beginning of the match...

Then you wander take your normal sweet time getting to the first objective hoping you never see me on the battlefield. But I'm clever so I wait till the end of the match, because I watch to see what you are using and see you are in a caldari logi most of the time.
I catch you in a bunker with a flux grenade toward the end of the match, then MD you to the ground preventing you from being revived. You wake up in your merc quarters minus 1 75k isk proto logi fit and no payout from the match, and I get +35k in my payout. |

Well they are top players because they are the best players. They could be targetting each other, or a stupid blueberry could decide to claim the bounty at the match's beginning thereby preventing anyone else from getting it.
That's why its 1v1. It limits how big of a threat it can be and who kicks you from the match. |

1v1 changes the thing, thanks for clarifying this :)
Ps. Amarr proto logi is bad, so bad I won't use it in pubs :D |
