Keep in mind I am neither pro or against respecs, I will be cool with whatever happens.
So on too the point: time is money.
As many if not all of you know SP takes a long time to accumulate enough to get something good. Sometimes it takes months to get one skill to level 5. With all the nerfs coming and going peoples time is essentially being poured down the drain. Since time is money then there should be purchasable respecs.
Example:
You are a normal working person who doesn't have the luxury of playing Dust all day, or maybe you do play dust all day, whatever. Say you save up 3mil SP (approx) over the course of 2 months. Then you get you're class, it suits your play-style, and you have fun with it. Next day a patch renders it useless. Not literally, but it makes it undesirable and not at all what you wanted before. You would be pretty pissed and want something else. Know you realize you wasted 2 months of your life on a game that isn't fun for you anymore. You want your SP back badly. If I were in this situation I would pay $20 for a respec.

Ccp are not to blame for the nerfs etc that render certain suits useless, blame the QQ noobs who cry OP because they can't take down a heavy with their pistol.
In order for the nerfs to cease, ccp need to stop listening to the people who want to wreck this game and listen more to the people who's opinion really matters, because at the end of the day those who cry nerf never stick aroun, they go back to bf or cod after a certain amount of time and leave US with the nerfed gear that we can't do sh!t with. |

I think I'm convinced that paid respecs are against what this game stands for. and I don't care to argue for their existence anymore.
However.. everyttime they do a balance pass on existing content, I think at least partial SP reallocation for the affected items is a MUST.
At least right now while every single patch has significant changes in them. |

Well they said no more respecs, back when they did the Uprising respec. New Eden being the HTFU kind of neighborhood, I probably wouldn't expect one.
But your point is a good one, I think they would need to be on a 6 month or year long timer, to prevent tryhards from using the FOTM every time they have a PC fight. I would support that. It would help retain players, get some old ones back who f*cked away their skills, and keep money going into CCP to keep the updates coming.
Or, like others said, maybe they just refund affected skill tree SP.
I've got no qualms about it, if they gave me a respec, I'd still go against the grain with my armor gallente. If not, meh. I do hope they unf*ck the new plates and make them useful, but it was a step in the right direction.
It is kind of fun watching all the calogissaults squirm though 
They can't be issuing respects for every new suit or weapon that comes out though. We know cool stuff is coming, save up for it if you want it. Instant gratification can be attributed to making the US and our citizens suck more and more.
TL;DR
Pay timed respecs good. Most people suck and whine a lot. Lol @ calogissaults sweating. Make a few alts, turn on the passive and be patient.

Honestly don't give a darn about all the balances they do, if you only spec'd into it because it was good at the time and not because you actually like the role/mechanics, then that is your fault. But I still want respecs for when the other racial suits and vehicles come out. Just that and nothing more. |

I think respeccing a skill would be fine as long as they only return part of the SP to you. If you don't want to be a logi fine, but you'll be out a million SP doing it. |
