It is that was in unbalancing the game CCP ? If so.. just put a 4 people squad limit for PUB matches.. problem solved ? Also auto-Squad people together at the start of the battle. |

I think he means having a third of the enemies team directly coordinating with each other is causing the imbalance But changing it to a fourth of the team doesnt really help solve that problem |

As for limiting squads, I don't think that solves anything. I'd rather see an extended Academy, possibly with some training scenarios against AI. |

If we had the 24 vs 24 games we should at this point be getting, things would be very different but CCP is clearly not ready, despite having put it in the patch notes for Uprising 1.0.
I don't think 6 man squads is in any way breaking the game though - we just need better matchmaking and bigger teams. |

Unfortunately there was plenty of pub stomping with 4 squadies, 6 just makes the process faster. |

No sure.. i use to be available to do "something" when it was 4.. Now the only thing i can do is AFK for the full battle. |

I must say I would be really sad if they down the limit to 4, simply because I love to play with my friends and we are usually 5... I can't leave someone out...
We're not protostompers, just playing together.
But i DO realize that pubstomping squads are possibly the first cause of bad matches.
Possible fix:
Step 1: Create a Matchmaking
Step 2: Let MM take squads in consideration, so that bigger parties easily run into bigger parties.
Not sure if that's enough, but it should help for sure. |

Well the pink elephant in the room is in my opinion the fact that the squad sizes are 6 the total number of players per side is 16, 16 divided by 6 is 2 with a squad of 4 left over.....must stink to be that squad and trying to get an orbital sometimes.
I'm sure they are working on it but guess what their (ccp's) competition is not working it out, they figured it out before releasing the game to the public. |

Something like that, yes. The problem is; How you do a Matchmaking system is which SIX different people stats have to be taken into account ? and then put that SIX people in a battle without creating unbalance problems ? I don't think that is possible...or very close to IMPOSSIBLE. |

Limiting squads is against one of the major principles of this game. CCP wants to encourage teamplay.
The opposite is necessary, we need to pick up the so called "randoms" and encourage them to join our organized corps. Show them how much more fun teamplay can be. Create modes for solo players to hone their skills (pve drones).
If organized players only complain about "blueberries" instead of encouraging them to squad up we ain't any better than them. Everybody was a blueberry at one point!
If there is a need for solo play, make a special ambush mode for the singleplayer COD crowd...
Don't compromise any gamemode for lone wolves we need more templay not less.
For example give lone snipers the optional possibillity to call out enemys to squad leaders, for that they become a better asset to the team.
Think about improving teamplay!!!

Yeah, maybe but I think you are making the problem seem bigger but not really; it is taking them way to long to at least make it groups vs groups and randoms vs randoms<--- which would be at least something. |

Sometimes I like to play alone because I don't have the nerve to actually talk to people. In that case I don't want to be stacked up against a full squad of organized people.
Sometimes I like to play with other people because I have the spare time. In that case I don't want to be stacked up against a team of randoms.
I can see how to solve this problem in a very easy manner without having me install a different game. Can you too? |

That just sounds to silly, most blueberries don't have a mic and could care less about joining a corp, let alone doing something to help the team.... noboby is throwing out a nano-hive but me 2/3rds of the time, and it is awesome when I can't even spawn on my own droplinks after dying for the first time because everyone else used it up. Then you got the the dweebs trying to ewok, I have all the wookies I need, will I not invite one if they prove that they want to play with us, probably not.
There is no hope for a lot of them. |

I think it may be more about the player base now. My impression was that there were more NPC corp players, random player squads, and lone wolves when we had 4 man squads with less people with proto gear. Due to my time zone I used to see quite a few WTF (what the French), SI and a few Imps etc so a pub stomp usually happened 30 to 60% of the time. Now quite a few of the vets will have joined player corp though I expect a significant minority choose not to.
However, with the player base as it is we now have a lot of vets with 10 mil SP or far more, a fair number of open beta players with somewhere between 5-10 mil SP making this a very tough environment for new players.
When you factor in the revised skill tree making a massive SP sink for core skills makes it even worse for the casual/new player.
For me the problem is the gear used. Yes having maxed out skills gives the vet an advantage, even when in the same fit (in percentage terms), it is still far less than a player in a militia/STD fit competing against a fully skilled and fitted ADV/Proto fit.
Put a vet in a militia/STD fit and they may survive and extra 1-2 bullets over a new/casual player and maybe kill that new player with 1-2 less shots. An advantage yes but not much of one and skill and random luck become more of a factor.
For me the solution would be gear based battle environments. Reducing squad sizes could have an effect but I believe it would be limited and the player environment has changed a lot since we last had 4 person squads as we now have a lot more SP I.e. access to proto fits and more Isk while newer players have been hampered by a larger SP sink in core skills. |
