NOTE please read this entire post before you rip me to pieces about a respec thread
this is a idea i had awhile ago that i think may fit in with the lore as well but i would like to see what everyone would think about it.
this idea is essentially saving the consciousness of your previous clone to later transfer it to your current clone.
Example
say i have 1.000.000 SP and i decide to use it to try out higher tier tanks. but before i spend it i spend 5.000.000 ISK to Save consciousness
2 days later i decide i should have spent it to spec into assault rifles so i decide to download consciousness doing so i then have my 1.000.000 SP back but at the cost of any and all SP (including passive) i have accrued in that 2 day period (meaning in that period of 2 days i lose the 48.000 passive SP plus any active SP i made AND the active SP i made is still gone from my SP cap and my skill tree reverts to the state it was when i originally saved consciousness) all in favor to quickly get 1.000.000 SP. (note when you download consciousness it deletes your saved consciousness)
you would only be able to save consciousness once a week to prevent abuse (once every time the SP cap resets) you can only store your saved consciousness for 1 week/till the SP cap resets before it is terminated.
this way you have an option for a second chance (never a complete respec) and your choices still have serious consequences. |

If you lose the SP when you revert to a previous consciousness, then wouldn't it be better to just keep the SP in whatever you put them in? That way you at least have that unlocked.
If, for example I specced into SMGs but didn't like them, I'd rather keep my SPs there rather than go back to the time I had nothing in SMGs and losing any SPs I gained.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I see it, "Downloading consciousness" = wasted SP where you don't want them |

I would make respecs available for a percentage of your max sp that escalates every time it's used in 5% increments up to 25%. They could call it neural rewiring or something if they want to keep it in the lore.
This way every time someone wants a respec they could have one but it will cost them and there would be no respec threads to deal with. Don't expect this to get much support from either side of the debate though. |
