But plenty of people have said that they'll stay, I won't be getting the ps4 at first. Maybe not for awhile, but will there be enough people here to have decent matches? What will the population count be on Dust 514? Right now you can check HERE for the current population. There are plenty of people dedicated to this game but even they have a limit for how far they will go for this game.

I will not be staying. So, again, this comes back to the idea of only one game or console being playable at a time. Are you really going to trade in your PS3 for a PS4? You realize there's no backwards compatibility, right? And that Gaikai isn't coming till next year, and requires a subscription? Well there are PS3 emulators for the PC although you gotta have a damn good PC. So yes I most likely will trade in my ps3 and most of my ps3 games for the ps4

The Last of us took people away from Dust 514 temporarily, and people have already come back from that game.

The release titles alone are enough to turn your head, let alone what's being developed for release in the next year/ 18 months. agreed people don't have much of a reason to stay right now and won't have any at all after the ps4 comes out.

Then I'll be playing something else until that year. Shame really truth is I don't know if it'll be coming to the ps4 in years to come, CCP might already have a ps4 version nearly finished. But I doubt it because to me it looks like they're already having a hard time developing the ps3 version

Dust will never have more than that it can't afford to. Also the Eve players will be the ones playing Dust. I expect the Mag community to be gone, same with most beta vets. With 32 players per match and 2,000 loyal fans will keep Dust on life support for a long time. Here is the real question though... are those 2000 loyal fans purchasing enough aurum to keep the game on life support? and how long with CCP continue to fund dust if its not making any money? CCP mainly makes their $$$ from EVE online

I wait for COD to get to the bargain bin. Not enough innovation from last gen. This game will be for my arcadey twitch shooter experience. Oh I wasn't talking about the games you picked, although those are gonna be great games on the ps4. I was talking about Dust being available to play on the ps4 via Gakai.

They are already at the point is having a shortage of PS4 and I doubt that 90 million people are going to adopt the PS4 at launch. There should be plenty of PS3 for a while. For how long though?

They still produced ps1 games until last year so I would guess that the PS3 has at least three more years in it. If you take in to account the developing world that is just now becoming rich enough to own PS3s with a broadband connection then it may be even longer than that. We are are about year seven of a ten year console. Interesting, well I know that they'll be making games for the ps3 for a bit longer but I don't think it'll last more than a year or two, so we'll see

The MAG community has no where to go though, so a lot will stay here. actually alot of the MAG community will prob go PS2 considering that game is more akin to MAG in terms of providing larger scale battles As much as I'm tired of hearing about ps2 you're probably right about the mag community leaving dust for ps2. And battlefield 4 on the side

This and this and this. 1.4 is currently slated for a September ish release, which means it will be devoid of real feedback or data as a good portion goes off to see if GTA is as good as it can be. So good luck with getting CCP to make a decent balancing pass after that. Shortly after that we will start to see the migration to PS4. I will be in the first wave. My PS3 will get more use playing GTA 5 than it will playing Dust after the PS4 comes out. Edit: Why would I play 16 v 16 Dust when I can play 32 v 32 BF4 on PS4? If I had not overplayed BF3 to the point where I can't stand its problems, I would never have even gotten into Dust. Right GTA 5 will take people away from Dust 514 for along time because of all that you can do in that game. Same thing for Fallout 4, when that game comes out on the ps3 the Dust population will go down also. These games might keep people on the ps3 for awhile if they only come out with a ps3 version and by the time people are done with these games for the ps3 the migration to the ps4 might start to kick off.
