something me and my corp buddies were tossing around since there's this DIRE NEED to respec so often with shooters. the concept we came up with would be a Buyable Respect Token, the token would be bought via ISK/AUR something around the ballpark of an original clone pack price (+/- a few mill), you then equip the token via your augmentations and are required to fill out a perquisite of both time (1 full week upon activation ), and a predetermined SP/WP pool. after the perquisite is met POOF you can rebuild your cloned wrecking machine.
alot of MMO's have something similar for swaping servers or changing their character stats, this could be something good for the economy as well similar to PLEX's in EVE. |

See this thread for all the reasons why an unlimited or 'pay to play" respec system is bad for Dust and bad for New Eden. There are quite a few points raised in that thread, but if you can work out a way around those drawbacks then by all means lets discuss it.
Cheers, Cross
ps ~ there is however another thread which provided a possible alternative that solves many of the issues raised within the first link, perhaps starting there would be more desirable. |

if its ISK based then its not "pay to play" either way i dont see a problem with it and doubtful it would be "bad" if someone desires to respec then theres an option. |

The linked threads have many detailed posts that explain how respecs are "bad" to the game. If you're doubtfull then you can just have a read and see for yourself if you share the concerns or challenge them.
The important question that many of the respec ideas floating around fail to acknowledge, let alone adress is:
"Are respecs in dust a worthwhile feature to begin with?"
I say "no" and some of the reasons for this are linked in Cross' post. |

would not say a respec is bad in any way thought you were more refering to pay to win aspect of it then in general. in the long run of things respecs would be utter pointless due to the fact a character would be spec'd out in everything or a mass majority in a few years time. |

Usually i'm against respecs but if every character have 1 and only 1 respec, in their life, to use when they want, i would not mind. |
