I'm starting to notice that the remote explosive detonates when you destroy it with weaponry as if the owner manually detonated it himself. I find this to be bad game design in that it punishes players who take the time to notice remote explosive placements.
To give you a scenario, the most common placement for remote explosives is by the Null Cannon hack panel. It is extremely difficult to shoot a well placed remote explosive without going in close enough to the point where you put yourself in harms way of it's explosive radius when you destroy it. Another scenario is I spot a remote explosive sitting under a hack panel and I destroy it, but my teamate who happened to be standing a little too close gets killed by the explosion radius.
My suggestion is to remove the explosion when detonated by means other than the owner's manual detonation. That includes shots from a weapon, explosions from a locus grenade or flux grenade, and other remote explosives. Pretty much anything that can destroy a remote explosive shouldnt be able to set it off. |

Get a demolition skill where you can de-activate it. Other then that, throw a flux or shoot at it. I shoot them from a safe distance. |

I do that too but thats only if they're at a good distance. Using a grenade can be harmful and not that effective when considering how random bouncing can be. If you tried to shoot the well placed remote explosive near the hack panel like I descibed in OP, you'll end up blowing yourself up. Self detonating a remove explosive is more harmful than it is convenient which is why I think CCP should reward cautious players more.
There is no deactivation skill I cant imagine anyone wanting to go into a deactivation sequence while staring directly into a 6m kill lunchbox. |

Flux grenades have yet to steer me wrong when it came to securing an objective. If I hit myself then oh well my shield is dead for a few seconds. I recommend cooking them so they detonate right when they reach the bomb. |

Use flux grenades or don't stand so close. They are explosives after all. |

People who are saying use flux or stand far away
1. Grenades have crazy bounce patterns especially within the hacking terminals, it's more trouble than it's worth. 2. These things have a very large blast radius.
Sure your arguments could still stand, but I don't see what's wrong them simply having them disappear upon shooting them. |

Cook your flux before you throw it, you should be able to get the RE in your flux-bubble. Shooting at it should make it explode (keep your distance, maybe hacking a RE to clear it...yes....shooting it...no.

Didn't I just say that Well at least someone agrees. I say allow players to hack all equipment (adding another skill for this would be good OR add it as part of the current hacking skills functionality) |

Use a flux, a grenade, a flaylock, a HMG or another RE it's not that hard, but i should not say, i love creating traps. |

Well, modern C4 doesn't explode when shot with guns; it requires extreme heat and force. However, I think "extreme heat" is pretty much covered by a plasma weapon, and probably by mass drivers, forge gun, etc.
Shooting C4 wouldn't destroy it either though, it would just put a hole in the explosive which would still work.
I assume that "destroying the detonator" activates a failsafe which blows the charge. Most weapon-kills of remotes are basically controlled demolition I guess. |

Mass driver rounds will pop them just fine and from a safe distance. Just don't have any of your squadmates near it at the time...I've popped an entire friendly hack team by forgetting that fact a few times . |
